New Release: Justice League 3000 #11
Remember back in September when Newsarama.com broke the news that Blue Beetle and Booster Gold would be coming to Justice League 3000? Let me refresh your memory:
Keith Giffen: It's Beetle and Booster. This is them. Basically, a cryogenic chamber is found on Takron-Galtos while they're excavating, and inside are Beetle and Booster. It's Ted and Michael. It's really, really them.
That's been solicited as happening in next month's issue (#12). But those of you who are Booster Gold completists — one panel cameo appearances count too! — pay attention to this DC Comics solicitation for today's Justice League 3000 #11:
The Five have been defeated — but the Justice League has no time to catch their breath with the forces of Etrigan, the Demon massing for attack and the threat of the new Injustice League rising. Plus: a stunning discovery on Takron-Galtos!
I have a feeling I know what that stunning discovery is going to be. I'm going to find out for sure at my Local Comic Shop this afternoon.
UPDATE: Blue and Gold appearance confirmed. If you want issue #12 to make any sense, run to your LCS and pick up your copy of #11 today! (Ok, so maybe they just make a one panel cameo that has little if anything to do with the rest of the issue. But still. Buy it and make Skeets happy.)

Did you buy Smallville: Chaos online? If you've been waiting for the print versions, be aware that Chapters 4 through 6 are coming to your LCS today as Smallville Season 11: Chaos #2.

New Release: Futures End #3
Each week, Futures End runs a preview tease for the next issue. Last week's tease sure made it look like Booster Gold would be in this week's Futures End. Turns out not so much.

That wasn't Booster Gold we saw last week but Grifter. The two look a lot alike when they're out of costume. I guess that's why Booster wears his goggles and never leaves home without his American Express card. You never want to be mistaken for a telepathic, alien-hunting terrorist.
So pick up Futures End #3 if you want to, but don't expect to see Booster Gold in there.

New Release: Futures End #1
Did you like Booster's appearance in Futures End #0?
Let's play point/counter-point!
Chris Sims of ComicsAlliance.com:
"The setup for Future's End [sic], the violent death of all your favorite superheroes, is the same thing that [DC Comics] used for DC Universe Online, Injustice: Gods Among Us, Flashpoint and Earth-2, and that's just the stuff from the last few years that springs to mind. As a company, they seem obsessed with violently murdering their roster of characters in the most gruesome way possible, over and over agian. At this point, it's their trademark."
Russ Burlingame of ComicBook.com:
"It feels like they've created a ton of stuff from scratch here, and while it has the potential to be a trainwreck trying to connect the dots between the DC Universe we know and the one we saw in today's issue, I find it difficult not to have confidence in the steady hands of writers Brian Azzarello, Jeff Lemire, Keith Giffen and the aforementioned Dan Jurgens given the huge promise shown here and their combined track record."
Heh. One of them has to be right, right?
If, like Russ, you are excited to read more about far-future Batman's adventures in the near future, Future's End #1 hits shelves today. If, like Chris, you found the experience familiar and nauseating, you can wait another four months for Booster Gold's next announced appearance.
