Booster Gold War-Rocks Out!
If there's one thing this world needs, it's more songs about Booster Gold. Thankfully, there's Adam WarRock!
The Adam WarRock album You Dare Call That Thing Human?!? will be released on Monday, February 13. Track number 6 on the album is "Booster Gold," a hip hop song from the first person perspective of a very aggressive and angry Booster Gold. (Warning: Booster curses when he raps. Apparently, that's necessary for establishing "street cred.")
WarRock has firmly established a following among geek culture with his previous albums celebrating television's Firefly and Marvel Comic's Infinity Gauntlet. This new album has already received positive reviews from Newsarama and Wired.
You can pre-order the album as a digital download or compact disc at adamwarrock.com.

The Art of Noise
If you like your music to sound like road construction, this is the band for you:
This image was Pat Prendergast's submission to Comic Book Resources' blog Comics Should Be Good. From left to right, that's Scott Pilgrim's Todd Ingram (Oni Press) on bass, X-Men's Syren (Marvel Comics) on lead vocals, "New Look" Booster Gold, and Scud the Disposable Assassin (Fireman Press) on drums. It's an eclectic band, no doubt, and if you go to their concert, be sure take your ear plugs.

Stuff to Labor Over
Remember back before DC announced they were rebooting their entire shared universe and Booster Gold's only connection to Canada was that his Smallville appearance was filmed there? Those were the days.
Or perhaps you'll be spending the 3-day Labor Day weekend longing for the old days of Booster Gold, Volume 1, wherein Booster was little more than a smooth criminal with a time machine? Cracked.com has posted Brendan McGinley's article including Booster Gold as one of "7 Comic Characters Who Outlasted The Trends That Made Them." It's funny because it's true. (Thanks to Gregory Swarthout for pointing out that link.)
Good times, man. Good times.
UPDATE 09/02/11: It looks like Cracked has changed the release date of the "7 Comic Characters" article from September 1 to September 5, making you wait until Tuesday to read it. If you're impatient, maybe the Google cache link suggested by Morgenstern in the comments below will get you through the weekend.

Look, a CD! DC 75: The Music of DC Comics
I just picked up The Music of DC Comics: 75th Anniversary Collection cd. I open the case for the first time to put the cd in my computer's cup holder, and lo and behold, who do I find looking up at me from the back tray card under the cd but the Corporate Crusader and all of his DC pals.
DC's 75th anniversary, indeed! Jemm, Son of Saturn, meet Catman! I bought the cd for the music, but I'm in love with it for the interior art.
What's not to like about any cd that comes with its own comic artist credits? Pencils: Adam Dekracker, Brett Breeding, Ryan Sook, Jon Bogdanove, Ian Churchill, Craig Hamilton, Jonboy Meyers, Matthe Clark, Tom Derrinick, Mike McKone, Admira Wijayai. Inks: Brett Breeding, Ryan Sook, Joe Rubenstein. Colors: Raul Trevino, Dave McCaig, Ryan Kinnard, Richard Horie.
Hard core DC junkies may recognize this image as very similar to one that circulated a few months ago as a promotional image for Warner Brothers Consumer Products. There have been a few changes from that image, including but not limited to Booster Gold moving to a more prominent position behind Batman (location, location, location!) and Aquaman being re-drawn. For more details on the original, head over to the archive at onceuponageek.com.

And It Looks Like He's Always Glowing
Musician Eddie Argos and his pals have created a song about Booster Gold:
"Booster Gold" is just one of the 3 tracks on Spoiler Alert!. (The other two tracks are "Batman" and "Blue Beetle.") More details about the album are available on Argos' Blog, The Eddie Argos Resource. But if you like what you hear, just head directly to Corporate Records UK to purchase the track -- or the entire album.
