Blue and Gold: Public Speakers for Hire
Morenstern has unearthed a new YouTube video of Blue Beetle and Booster Gold. This time the pair are giving a presentation on how to be American super heroes to a crowd assembled at the 2011 Aki Con anime convention.
Why the pair is presenting their panel at an anime convention is a question that doesn't need asking. Wherever there is a paycheck or a public forum, there will be Blue and Gold.

Judging the Justice Leagues
Justice League, Justice League International, Justice League Dark.... There are a lot of Justice Leagues competing for attention these days. How to tell which one is for you?
While time has yet to tell which of the New 52 DC Justice Leagues is the best, there must be some way to judge those that came before. We at Boosterrific.com tend to judge by comparing the number of Booster Gold appearances between the eras. (Appearances while wearing his high-collared costume count double!)
Centives.net thinks they have a better, more objective solution for judging between Leagues of years past: comparing League rosters to United States crime rates. While their metric is obviously flawed for not taking Booster Gold into account, I can't really argue with their results. (Thanks to Morgenstern for the link.)

Skeets, International Man of Mystery
With appearances in Secret Six #36 and Titans #38, Booster Gold has shown up in a couple of series finales other than his own. In both of those issues, Booster's been on his own, his sidekick nowhere to be seen. So where has Skeets been? Having adventures of his own, apparently.
This picture was seen in the final issue of Batgirl #24 as part of a prolonged drug-induced hallucination. Unfortunately there is no evidence that Skeets -- who so rarely gets to leave Booster's shadow -- has actually been traveling through time with the three Batgirls and having grand adventures with the Blackhawks in World War II. But just because we don't have any record of it doesn't mean it didn't really happen. Skeets does have the ability to erase memories, after all.
Issue writer Bryan Q. Miller clarified the page's meaning on his director's cut of the issue posted on the Tumblr blog DC Women Kicking Ass:
PAGE 15 - Steph [Stephanie Brown] never did get to have an adventure with Cass [Cassandra Cain] during the pages of the book - this adventure/vision finds Batgirl Steph and Skeets on an adventure through time to find a wayward Booster, joined by Batgirls Babs [Barbara Gordon] and Cass.
Thanks to Morgenstern in the Boosterrific Forums for pointing out this panel.

Maguire Drinks and Tweets
Late yesterday, Booster booster Morgenstern drew my attention to the following text and picture posted by Kevin Maguire (@maguirekevin) via twitter:
I'm sitting here working at Starbucks and all I can see is ass. http://yfrog.com/gzdthoaj
It seems a shame that an artist as good as Kevin Maguire has been reduced to serving coffee at Starbucks, but I guess times are tough. Kevin may only see ass, but I see something far better: Oberon and Booster Gold (with collar)! Presumably, this is work from the upcoming DC Retroactive: Justice League of America - the 90s due in August. I don't care what Kevin thinks of his own work; I like what I see.

Say Cheese
Last week at ComicsAlliance.com, Andy Khouri posted Kevin Maguire's turnarounds (front, side, and rear view drawings used for visual reference by a sculptor) for the 2009 DC Direct Justice League International action figures. Of course these things look great.
Comics Alliance may have just posted an article about it, and I may have just re-posted it, but there isn't really anything new here. These drawings were made for a set of action figures released 2 years ago. Comics Alliance even notes that they re-posted these images from the (apparently now-defunct) Poytress of Solitude website, where they had been originally posted in 2008.
But there is no shelf life on great art, and if you haven't seen these drawings before, they're new to you! Thanks to loyal Boosterphile Morgenstern for calling these images to my attention.
