All the Answers You Need
Were you confused by the multiple universes seen in last month's Booster Gold: Futures End #1? What world did the A.R.G.U.S. Booster Gold come from? Does the pre-Flashpoint DCU still exist somewhere? DC might have some good news for you.
Yesterday, DC announced the coming of The Multiversity Guidebook #1.
THE MULTIVERSITY GUIDEBOOK #1
Written by GRANT MORRISON
Art by NICOLA SCOTT, GARY FRANK, KLAUS JANSON, CAMERON STEWART, DAN JURGENS, CHRIS SPROUSE, BEN OLIVER and others
On sale JANUARY 21 • 80 pg, FC, $7.99 US • RATED T
The guidebook to the greatest adventure in DC's history is here! With a detailed concordance featuring each of the 52 worlds in the Multiverse, a complete history of DC Comics' universe-shattering "Crisis" events, a map of all known existence, AND an action-packed dual adventure starring Kamandi of Earth-51 alongside the post-apocalyptic Atomic Knight Batman of Earth-17 and chibi Batman of Earth-42, this 80-page mountain of MULTIVERSITY madness cannot be missed!
The MULTIVERSITY GUIDEBOOK contains everything you ever wanted to know about DC's parallel worlds and their super-heroic inhabitants. Meet the Agents of W.O.N.D.E.R. The Light Brigade, the Super-Americans and the Love Syndicate! Meet the Accelerated Man, Aquaflash, BiOmac and more!
If you read the above solicitation closely, you couldn't miss that Dan Jurgens is credited on the book. That's no guarantee that we'll get Booster Gold, but given the events of Booster Gold: Futures End, it seems likely at least one Booster will be included in this 80-page giant.
You can find more information and the full slate of DC's January solicitations (including the news that Fire and Ice will be coming to Justice League 3000) at ComicBookResources.com.

Gold Exchange: Booster Gold: Futures End #1
Believe it or not, the last time I ran a post about a new Russ Burlingame "Gold Exchange" column was July 12... 2013! Thankfully, Russ hasn't forgotten us Booster Gold fans. Russ put the hard questions about Booster Gold: Futures End #1 to Dan Jurgens earlier this week:
Burlingame: So, if you can say...how many Boosters are there in the DC Universe at the moment?
Jurgens: As far as I'm concerned there are two. The younger version from the New 52 and the older version from the pre-Flashpoint DC Universe.
That's pretty clear! Except, how did "our" Booster end up wearing New 52 A.R.G.U.S. armor? And which Booster was in All-Star Western? And what really happened at the end of Booster Gold #47? Okay, so maybe not as clear as I was hoping. Maybe Jurgens was a little more expansive when he spoke to Vaneta Rogers yesterday:
Rogers: Anything you can say about the next time we see Booster?
Jurgens: Unfortunately, I can't. But there's obviously more to come. It certainly safe to say that there are all sorts of elements in the Booster Gold: Futures End issue that hint at a lot of big stuff looming right around the corner.
Well, that only opens more questions. What does "right around the corner" mean? April? It took 2 years to touch on the events in JLI Annual, and none of that is remotely resolved yet. Not a great precedent.
I recommend that you read the rest of the interviews (Burlingame at ComicBook.com and Rogers at Newasarma.com) and draw your own conclusions.

USA Today Covers Booster Gold One-Shot
As noted by MetalWoman in the Boosterrific Forum, Brian Truitt of USA Today has spoken with Dan Jurgens in anticipation of tomorrow's Booster Gold: Futures End #1. Here's what Jurgens had to say:
"There are going to be things that longtime DC readers respond very, very well to, and we're setting up some fairly major events and surprises for DC's current universe."
You can find the whole article — which includes both a preview of the comic as well as Futures End spoilers — at USAToday.com. You'll find Booster Gold: Futures End #1 in your Local Comic Shop tomorrow.

I Guess Booster Gold Should Make a Sex Tape
Dan Jurgens spoke to Comic Book Resources's Jonah Weiland at Comic-Con, and naturally Booster Gold came up.
Jonah Weiland: You're one of the few creators that comes back to a character they created for a company time and time and time again. Talk about your relationship with Booster Gold. (I know that sounds a little weird, but there is a real relationship you have with that character.)
Dan Jurgens:...I always explain it this way: whereas there's a plane coming down out of the sky, Superman flies up and catches it, lands it safely in Metropolis Park. Booster calls the media, says, "I'm going to go do, film this." He tries to catch it, he can't, the thing drives him down, and at the very last minute he makes it. He saves it, but with a rocky landing and he's just... you know, he has human faults that way. He's not perfect and he's trying to atone for his past. I'm attracted to that as a character... that he is a non-perfect human being. So, yeah, I like going back to that from time to time and DC has been kind enough to let me.
Weiland: In a way, it seems like Booster Gold makes more sense today than he did even back then.
Jurgens: What we were beginning to see back in the mid-80s was much more the emergence of the celebrity culture.... We had always had like athletes on a Wheaties box before, but the concept of people signing endorsement contracts even before they were named MVP or whatever was a bit different then.... You're right, it's built up to the point where Booster should be Kim Kardashian to a certain extent in the way he handles things.
You can find the rest of the interview (a little more about Booster but lots of reminiscing about the "Death of Superman" and Jurgens' career and longevity) at ComicBookResources.com.

The Team-Up No One Asked For But We Still Love
Booster Gold hasn't made too many cover appearances lately. That's something that Ross Pearsall is aiming to correct.
Dazzler? An inspired choice! It even Booster Gold-creator Dan Jurgens' attention. He called it "a great idea" on the SuperTeamFamilyTheLostIssues Facebook page. No word yet on what Dazzler's committee of creators (including a murderer's row of Jim Shooter, Tom DeFalco, Roger Stern, and John Romita, Jr.) think about the pairing.
I'm certain that this is the first time I've mentioned Dazzler on this site, but I'd gladly buy a Booster Gold/Cloak & Dagger crossover if that's what it took to get Booster into the Marvel Universe.
I've showcased plenty of Ross Pearsall's previous Booster Gold team-ups, but you'll find even more amazing covers at his site, Super-Team Family ...The Lost Issues daily.
