Blue and Gold #4 was originally solicited for October 19, but when issue 3 slid to October 12, it was easy to see that that issue 4 would be significantly off target, too. Expect to see it next week.

In the meantime, may I suggest that you read a book. Maybe the kind without pictures. Perhaps a book like The Death and Life of Superman (1993, ISBN 0-553-09582-X) by Action Comics writer Roger Stern?

If you like reading about the history of Booster Gold (and since you're reading *this*, I'd say there's a pretty good chance you do), you may be interested in hearing from Pablo Stadelman of Argentina who wrote me last week.

I send you this message because I write a book about the comic industry, called "Cosa de Fans" (fans thing) in my country.

Two years ago I came up with the idea of writing this book with the purpose that people, comic fans or not, know the way the industry works and the stories behind the development of a comic, since its creation from a character to the writing of a story.

For this reason, I interviewed several cartoonists, scriptwriters, inkers and editors of the major publishers, such as Marvel and DC comics, to tell them in the first person how their work is, along with the vicissitudes that happened during the development of a comic.

It also contains stories, many of them unknown, about various specific events of both publishers, both about their characters and their authors.

I had contact with many other friendly people, such as Dan Jurgens and Devin Grayson, as well as people who at first seemed unattainable, such as JM DeMatteis and Kevin Eastman.

I had the pleasure of speaking in the first person with people whom I idolize and follow since I started reading comics, and I was able to appreciate the human quality of each one of them.

I wrote a chapter about Booster Gold and the importance of this character in the DC universe. I talked with Dan Jurgens about the creation of Booster Gold, and he talked about the origin, and the way that he created Booster Gold.

It sounds like a pretty educational read. Pablo tells me Cosa de Fans (ISBN 9789878618272) can be found on Argentinian e-commerce platform Mercado Libre or "in some book shops or comic shops in Argentina." If you're down that way, keep an eye out for it.

Booster booster J dropped me a note late last week to say that Booster Gold had been spotted somewhere I hadn't thought to look: in a young adult graphic novel.

Field Trip Disaster is the fifth entry in the "Secret Hero Society" series from Scholastic Books. All the books in the series were written by Derek Fridolfs, and this one was illustrated in a black and white, breezy style by Dave Bardin. It's been out since 2019, but J's note was the first time I thought to crack the cover.

The plot is mostly about young Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman traveling to the future and meeting the Legion of Super-Heroes. This presents the opportunity for the heroes to meet a lot of lesser-known DC characters, including Etta Candy, Lobo, Space Cabbie, and, of course, Booster Gold (and Skeets!), who is teaching 21st-century history to 31st-century students.

Booster only appears on 6 of 175 pages, but the entire book is cute and funny, and I'm glad to have added it to my collection. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, J.

Booster booster Kevin Munson wrote in a few weeks ago to let me know that he had spotted Booster in a place I hadn't.

My mother-in-law just bought me a great gift that I am adding to my Booster collection.

The book is "The Superhero Book: The ultimate encyclopedia of comic-book icons and Hollywood Heroes" 2nd edition by Gina Misiroglu.

I have only scanned it. Booster is mentioned in 2 sections. Pg 33 in the Blue Beetle section, and pg 130 in the JLA section.

Kevin's not the only one who liked the book. It has 4.5 stars from customers on Amazon.com. That's pretty good.

Stone Arch Books has just released a new series of illustrated children's books based on the Justice League Unlimited franchise. If you ask me, these $5.95 books are worth the price for the covers alone.

(I admit it. I'm a sucker for Starro.)

But that's not the best part. The best part is that each book includes a "roll call" of Justice Leaguers. Guess who's on that list? That's right! It's everybody's favorite dynamic duo, Booster Gold and Blue Beetle!

The illustrations for the books were done by Tim Levins (who you may remember for illustrating 2012's The Man of Gold). Levins has been posting his drawings of the individual Leaguers on DeviantArt.com so you can see just how good his Booster Gold looks. Check it out:
