Booster Gold and The Jiminy Conjecture

Last night, CBS aired a rerun of The Big Bang Theory episode in which Sheldon loses his copy of Flash, Volume 1, #123, ("The Flash of Two Worlds") in a bet. What does this have to do with Booster Gold, you ask? Other than the obvious gambling angle and Booster's involvement in ensuring the creation of the Silver Age Flash (in both Booster Gold, Vol. 2, #4 and #17), Geoff Johns has hinted that Booster will be playing a further role in policing the Flash's history. With Johns' proclivity for re-investigating Silver Age stories, don't be surprised if Booster, guardian of the modern 52-verse, eventually finds his way into the mix of this issue, the grandfather of all DC Multiverse stories.

More Changes Ahead

There are more changes on the horizon for Boosterrific. I'd hoped to have everything ready to go at the start of the week, but I'm not quite there yet. I'm trying to create a design that will integrate ads as innocuously as possible, without significantly modifying the site layout or function. That has proven to be something of a challenge. The up-side of this is that it is forcing me to update some of the older code on the site, not that you should notice anything. If anyone does come across any unexpected scripting errors, please bring them to my attention via a quick email addressed to webmaster at boosterrific dot com. Thank you.

Jurgens Leaving Booster Gold

I feel reassured about the future of Booster Gold hearing Dan Jurgens say that he plans to return eventually in Russ Burlingame's latest "Gold Exchange" column. We all knew that Jurgens couldn't keep his hands off the character for too long. So long as Jurgens is still working for DC, I'm sure there will be a Booster Gold somewhere. As someone who has followed the character for so many years, I have to say that I find that to be a pretty comforting thought. Thanks, Dan.

Giffen and Winnick on Generation Lost

To follow up on yesterday's post, if you haven't already seen it, check out the Newsarama interview with Keith Giffen and Judd Winick on the upcoming Justice League: Generation Lost series.

Full disclosure: I strongly dislike Judd Winick's DC work. I believe that rather than work with the characters that he is given, he butchers established characterization in order to push his own agenda. I find that distasteful. But I'm willing to (publicly) withhold judgment about this project until I read it. We'll see what we see.

Why a Booster Gold Blog?

At this point you're probably saying that surely there can't be enough Booster Gold related news to blog about on a nearly daily basis. Well, here's hoping you're wrong. After all, it's just recently been announced that Booster Gold will be appearing in a second title, Justice League: Generation Lost, and that Dan Jurgens will be leaving Booster Gold, not to mention the fact that the Blue Beetle co-feature is soon to be canceled. And all that's newsworthy, right? (Besides, this blog allows for a pretty clean way for me to link to all of those stories that I couldn't really do before in the old format.)

Boosterrific Blog: because knowing is half the battle.
