The Black Beetle's True Identity Is...
Recently, I received an email from Ryan Sias:
"the fact dc never resolved who the Black beetle is still haunts me. ... I was wondering if you had any idea or if you could post something on the blog and as a group we could figure it out."
That's a good suggestion, Ryan. It's been over six years since Black Beetle first appeared in Booster Gold #4 to muck with time and more than three years since his last appearance. It's about time someone got around to discovering the truth of Black Beetle's secret identity. Perhaps Booster Gold's fans can solve the mystery that eluded our hero.
Starting Monday, I'll begin walking through the clues scattered throughout issues of Booster Gold to see where they lead. Do you have a theory? If so, feel free to leave them in the comments. (How else are you going to be able to gloat when we prove you right?)

It Seems I'm Mentioning Smallville A Lot
When some people win the lottery, they buy a house. I'd hire George Perez to redraw Crisis on Infinite Earths with every character replaced by Booster Gold.
Last week's poll question: How much do you spend a year on commissioned art from comic artists? (40 votes)
I know that I've devoted a bunch of posts to Smallville Season 11 recently, but that's because it's the only place we've been seeing Booster Gold. Would you rather that I ignored them?

New Release: Smallville Season 11: Chaos
Did you buy Smallville: Chaos online? If you've been waiting for the print versions, be aware that Chapters 4 through 6 are coming to your LCS today as Smallville Season 11: Chaos #2.
In this issue, Booster doesn't have a steady spotlight, but we do get to see him in battle against Lex Luthor's Yellow Lantern Corps!
Buy this issue and make Skeets happy.

Booster Gold Is No One's Pawn!
If you're paying attention, you may soon start seeing Eaglemoss' "white pawn" Booster Gold (and accompanying magazine) appearing in your Local Comic Shop.
Booster is figure 61 in the set. (Pieces 1 through 32 were a complete Batman-themed chess set.) He's been available for a few months internationally, but he'll be arriving in American stores any day now, if not already. (You can already find it for under $20 on eBay.com.)
This New 52 Booster should make a nice companion to the classic Booster Eaglemoss released a few years ago. How long do we have to wait for an Eaglemoss Skeets?

Booster Gold Is Not In There
I had wanted to start the week covering Booster Gold's activities in the latest digital chapter of Smallville: Continuity #2. Too bad Booster isn't in it.
That's right: despite appearing on the digital cover for both the first two chapters of Smallville: Continuity, our Golden Guardian hasn't so much as been mentioned on the virtual pages within. Talk about bait and switch!
Traditionally, printed editions of Smallville Season 11 have used the cover representing the three digital chapters collected therein. We can therefore assume that Cat Stagg's cover to Smallville: Continuity #1 through #3 will likely be the cover on Smallville Season 11: Continuity #1 when it is released in December.
That means that Booster Gold will have to be in chapter 3, right? I guess we'll find out when the issue becomes available on Comixology.com this Friday?
