This Day in History: Booster Wax

It was 23 years ago today that DC released Justice League Europe #32. "What's significant about that," you ask? It's the only time we've ever seen a wax likeness of Booster Gold!
Most of you are probably familiar with Madame Tussauds, a worldwide chain of museums featuring life-like wax sculptures of celebrities like Micheal Jackson, Muhammad Ali, and, um, Thor. In the DCU, Madame Tussauds has a rival organization, Mme. Cloussau's.
In Justice League Europe #32, we are treated to a brief tour of the Paris branch of Mme. Cloussau's wax museum where we can glimpse the wax likenesses of Superman, Batman and Robin, Green Lantern, and, of course, Booster Gold.
It also happens that Mme. Cloussau's is where the Justice League stored the inert robot bodies of the other-worldy Extremists (because where else are you going to store villains responsible for the mass murder of millions?). When you visit Mme. Cloussau's, you get your money's worth!

Take Me Away, I Don't Mind
A few months back, a Booster Gold cosplayer sent me his pics with the Doctor's TARDIS. Another cosplayer has now contacted me with pics of her encounter with another, perhaps even more famous time machine.
This photo was taken at the Chicago ComicCon, where the Back to the Future DeLorean was promoting the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. A worthy prop for a worthy cause!
What pop-fiction time machines are left for Booster cosplayers to conquer? H.G. Welles Time Sled? The Time Tunnel? Bill and Ted's Phone Booth? The Guardian of Forever? Get cracking, convention goers; there's a universe of time machines out there for Booster Gold to pose with!

Nothing Says Etsy Like a Chibi Blue and Gold
Blue and Gold are back together everywhere, baby!
Blue and Gold and Fire and Ice? (And isn't that Wally West's belt?) That is my Justice League!
This poster, created for MegaCon by artist Jerry Gaylord and colorist Gabriel Cassata, is just one of two different 11x17 Justice League poster prints that include Booster Gold and Blue Beetle currently for sale in Gaylord's Etsy.com store, theFranchizeStore. (There are only 86 days until Christmas, hint, hint!)

Now That We Know There Are Alternate Boosters
If we learned nothing from Booster Gold: Futures End, it's that there must be alternate-Earth Booster Golds running around out there. Do any of them look like this?
That's Booster Gold as a Star Sapphire. (Violet is the emotion of "love," and if there is one thing that Booster Gold is about, it's loving Booster Gold!)
Artist Mike Schwartz drew this as a commission a few years back, "during the Blackest Night craze," and has it on his DeviantArt.com page for all to see. You'll find more great work from Schwartz on his Etsy shop, BarnstormerArtworks, devoted to children's art.

You Think Black Beetle Is...
I admit that the list of possibilities I gave you in the last poll included a lot of heroes. That must mean that I expect an Armageddon 2001-style resolution to the mystery, doesn't I? I can't lie. I rather enjoyed Armageddon 2001. (Ah, for the days when summer meant themed annuals....)
Last week's poll question: Who do you think the Black Beetle is? (59 votes)
This week's big news was the triumphant return of Booster Gold to comic racks everywhere! (At least everywhere in America that has comic shops.) Surely you've read it by now. What did you think?
