"I Think There's A Good Chance"
Dan Jurgens spoke to Josie Campbell of ComicBookResources.com, and he had a lot to say about Booster Gold's role in Futures End and beyond (and before).
CBR: In the "Futures End" weekly, we've got Terry McGinnis time traveling; as Booster Gold is also a time traveler, how much of what happens in "Futures End" going to impact your "Booster Gold: Futures End" one-shot?
Jurgens: Quite a lot, actually, and I think you have to step back a little farther than that in terms of the question. The last time we've seen Booster Gold [in the present] was in the Justice League International" annual of 2012. Since then, [other than his appearance in "All Star Western"] we haven't seen Booster until we saw him at that point. We're going to finally start to find out, was he taken? Did he just slip out of existence? Or did he go someplace else? This starts to deal with all that. It goes back to that point. We pick up on that, and we start to answer some of those questions, as well as how it relates to "Futures End." And then, as I said earlier, where does it go from there? It's definitely plugging in, in that very wide-scope kind of way.
Yep, I will definitely be buying 2 copies of Booster Gold: Futures End in September.
CBR: Is there a chance readers will see more Booster Gold coming up, either in "Aquaman And The Others" or perhaps in a solo book once again?
Jurgens: Yeah, I think there's a good chance. [Laughs]
Finally a new Booster Gold series? Yeah, I'd buy two of that, too!

Anyone Who's Anyone Wears a High Collar
It seems to me that I'm seeing more and more Booster fan art these days. Could it be that the fans are responding to a need that DC isn't filling?
Today's image comes to us from guinnessyde (TJ Frias) by way of DeviantArt.com. If you like what you see, you can request a commission at tjsketchblog.tumblr.com.

Counting Up All Over Again
I did the math this weekend, and unless Booster shows up somewhere in the DCnU continuity before his announced one-shot in September, the drought between Booster appearances will total 210 days. That will tie for the 5th longest span between in-continuity appearances:
- 210 days between Haven: The Broken City #5 and Superman: Day of Doom #1 (Apr. 2002 to Nov. 2002)
- 210 days between Superman: Day of Doom #1 and JLA: Welcome to the Working Week (Nov. 2002 to June 2003)
- 210 days between All-Star Western #28 and Booster Gold: Futures End #1 (Feb. 2014 to Sept. 2014)
Of course, this count assume that we see "our" Booster this September. Given that Futures End takes place in an alternate future, none of the characters involved in that series so far should be considered to be the same characters in "current" post-Flashpoint continuity. If Booster Gold: Futures End delivers a future version of Booster Gold, this drought will move into sole possession of the 5th longest span.
The four longer spans are 336, 302, 244, and 238 days, respectively, with that 244 being Booster's long disappearance between All-Star Western issues earlier this year. Now that All-Star has been cancelled (effective this August), who knows where or when we'll be seeing Booster after September.

Celebrate America. Eat a Hot Dog
Last year, Joey Chestnut set the world record by eating 69 hot dogs in 10 minutes. Can anyone top that? We'll find out today at the 99th Annual Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest, held each year on Independence Day in Coney Island, New York.
If it is a history-making moment, we can bet Booster Gold will be there!

World Cup Fever
Futures End seems to be selling very well for DC. If 40% of their audience is buying it, the company must be very happy, indeed. How long untill all their titles are weekly?
Last week's poll question: Do you plan on buying the rest of FUTURES END? (55 votes)
The World Cup quarterfinals start tomorrow. While the international version of football — what we American call "soccer" — isn't my preferred type of football, I can appreciate that it might be someone else's. Which brings us to today's poll:
