You Don't Know Us, But We Love Skeets, Too!

This past weekend, Russ Burlingame interviewed Smallville Season 11 writer Bryan Q. Miller for ComicBook.com. The interview primarily focuses on Miller's work with Superman and his creator-owned Earthward but doesn't forget the important stuff. By which I mean Skeets.

ComicBook.com: Skeets was barely in the television show, so there didn't appear to be any need to include him as a stand-alone character in [Smallville Season 11 #13]. Why choose to include Skeets, especially in a physical form?

Miller: Because I love Skeets. I've always loved Skeets. He's the straight man. And, as far as I'm concerned (thanks to Justice League Unlimited), he sounds like Billy West.

ComicBook.com: Do you realize that you've earned the eternal gratefulness of Boosterrific.com, who have been missing Skeets since before Flashpoint?

Miller: I didn't then, but I do now — and I'm happy to help!

Thanks, Bryan! We can never have too much Skeets in our lives!

A Blaze of Booster Gold Media Glory

If you haven't heard the news yet, Scott Johnson over at ComicBook.com has found an Easter Egg in the latest Man of Steel trailer. As you might have guessed from seeing it referenced here, it's Booster Gold related.

At the two minute and twenty-seven second mark in the third Man Of Steel trailer, Superman and General Zod are shown flying directly at each other with the Metropolis skyline in the background.

In the Metropolis skyline, there is a building with a blurry yellow and white neon sign. Comicbook.com blew up a hi-res version of the image, and the blurry yellow and white sign is actually for "Blaze Comics." In DC Comics, Blaze Comics is the comic book publisher that publishes the Booster Gold comic book series.

Johnson goes on to speculate about what this news might mean and why Blaze Comics was chosen for inclusion. I'm just happy that Booster has found a way to crash Superman's movie.

Elsewhere on the Internet, Geoff Johns told Steve "Frosty" Weintraub at Collider.com that the Booster Gold television project isn't officially dead yet.

Booster Gold TV series: still in development, Andrew Kreisberg is working on it right now.

"Still in development" isn't really revealing very much, but at least it's better than "not still in development!" Is the show headed somewhere other than SyFy, which didn't even mention it in their 2014 upfronts last month? Skeets' fins are crossed that the show comes to TV sooner rather than later!

Where Do We Go from Here?

Oh, Skeets. We miss you, we really miss you!

Last week's poll question: Which Booster Gold supporting character do you still miss the most in the DCnU? (55 votes)

Which Booster Gold supporting character do you still miss the most in the DCnU?

With Booster currently in two separate stories that could be considered outside New 52 continuity, it begs the question of whether continuity is relevant to our time and space traveling hero.

News and Reviews Roundup

A few days ago, Booster booster CDN pointed out in the Boosterrific Forum that Vaneta Rogers at Newsarama.com had included Booster Gold in an article regarding speculating on the upcoming "Trinity War" event.

With Booster being one of Johns' favorite characters (he launched the character's most recent solo title), and the Booster of the future knowing so much about the Justice League, the chances are good that the man in gold will show up at some point. And when Booster's around, heroics ensue.

Elsewhere, both comichype.com and popcults.com give Booster glowing reviews for his visit with Jonah Hex in All-Star Western #19.

Given such a long period of inactivity for Booster Gold following his disappearance in Justice League International Annual last year, there sure seems to be a lot of people talking about our hero these days. That's some good news indeed!
