Well at least we now know where the writing on Rip's blackboard came from - That has bugged me for a while. I don't think we'll ever find out about the Black Beetle.

So this is it...the end already...<br />:(<br /><br />Speaking of Black Beetle...the same could be said for that random Red Beetle! Man, this is gonna bug me for the next few years.. (or until I become a DC writer/artist :P Ha!)

I've asked Dan about the Black Beetle in the past, and he indicated that he may reuse the character in the new universe, and that if he decides against it I may be able to persuade him to come clean. Maybe on the podcast...?

I was underwhelmed by the issue. I suppose skeets is gone, how do we know?<br /><br />Did Booster accomplish anything?

Skeets is fine. Did you miss the fact that Booster had the backpack with him in it? Also, the fact Booster remembers the Vanishing Point (as he did not say "Where am I?" at all and it was clear he knew where he was) makes it clear that the events of his book are still canon.

That's bad logic, Kevin. Booster's recognition of Vanishing Point means that Booster recognizes Vanishing Point, nothing more or less. It does imply that many familiar elements will remain unchanged, but it is hardly comprehensive evidence of a static universe. I agree that Skeets will probably be fine, and most of his continuity will be intact. However, the existence of Vanishing Point and Booster's familiarity of it in and of itself reveals nothing except the fact that Booster is likely unaware of whatever changes the timeline may have experienced.

...I am not going to argue with you Walter. It was clear to me what the ending was and what it meant. You have your opinion. We will see in JLI, but I am telling you, don't be surprised when it is revealed that Booster Gold Vol 2 is in canon for the new 52.

It's fine with me that you believe that nothing has changed, Kevin. As I said, I generally agree with your assessment. I was just saying that you shouldn't confuse what you see on panel with whatever you have learned outside of the book, either extrinsically or intrinsically. The book itself as published is inconclusive.
If I am missing something explicitly appearing in the book from which a rational deduction regarding Booster's future can be made, I invite anyone to bring it to my attention.

Personally, I found this ending unsatisfying.

I wonder if this means Skeets will be reconfigured into a headset like he was in Smallville?<br /><br />Is Booster no longer the Greatest Hero the World will never know since he'll publicly be leading the JLI?<br /><br />I still think Rip Hunter will be missing for a while and will return as a villain(to the DCnU)/anti-hero or hero(for those against the DCnU) as he'll want to restore the timeline since his goal and mission was always to preserve it. Rip ultimately failed big time, then.

Volume 2 ending was a huge letdown. And it pretty much indicates the end of Buster. <br /><br /> I mean we see some gibberish at the beginning, we also witness how Booster discards it. And in the end of the volume we learn that it's Booster who leaves all that gibberish for himself, only to be discarded.<br /><br /> And while Rip noticed something was off, he couldn't do a thing about it, since we all knew the connection between the two of them. So in the end, no Booster-no Rip Hunter.<br /><br /> Of course there's a slim chance that Future Booster could have a better luck, if he was still wearing Supernova suit, and would be, probably helping out behind the scenes, somehow. However volume 2 ending showed clear that Booster is getting discarded unless ratings have something to say about it.
