Watch Them Put Vixen in a Coma
Maybe it's time DC tried giving Skeets his own book.
Last week's poll question: Who makes a better sidekick for Booster Gold? (56 votes)
Earlier this week, a friend complained to me about how much he hated Justice League War. He vowed not to watch any more DC Universe Animated Original Movies (DCUAOM). But what if they featured Booster Gold, I asked. And I'm asking readers of Boosterrific.com the same question.

Ever Feel Like You Forgot Something?
I would have sworn I posted this before, but after scouring my image directories and database, I can't find any record of it. Therefore, I'm correcting that oversight today!
That's a sketch of classic Booster Gold (and Skeets!) from 2011 by current Marvel Comics' Daredevil artist Chris Samnee. You can find more of Samnee's work at DeviantArt.com (and, of course, in the pages of Daredevil).

The Ageless Wonder
DC's squabbling New 52 Universe seems aimed at angry young teenagers too young to remember the 1990s. That's part of what makes this review of an outdated trade of Booster Gold comics so interesting.
Indeed, Booster Gold's eponymous series was never particularly outstanding, but it was one thing that made it stand head and shoulders above the rest: It was fun. In a world surrounded by joyless, ultra-serious grim-and-grittiness, we have a fun, irreverent, silly book which plays with the idea of time travel in a superhero shared universe.
I pulled that quote from "The Stuff of Legend" blog posted on Saturday by Levi Sweeney, a self-professed "awesome" high-school student. I think that's a pretty fitting description. I mean, any high-school who recognizes the greatness of Booster Gold should certainly be called "awesome"!

This Day in History: Is Batman Still Dead?
Oh, 2010. How good we had it at the time. Booster Gold appeared regularly in his own title, Justice League: Generation Lost, and Time Masters: Vanishing Point, the first issue of which was released 4 years ago today.
Four years later, we still don't know who Rip Hunter's mother is. (Or for that matter who the Black Beetle was.) They say time heals all wounds, but that healing leaves some notable scars.

The Fiddle Didn't Exist in Ancient Rome
The Great Fire of Rome was ignited on this date, 1,950 years ago. Some accounts blame Emperor Nero for starting the fire, while others say he just took advantage of the aftermath to remake Rome to his liking.
History teaches that Nero was among the worst Roman emperors, both crazy and bloodthirsty. Some modern scholars debate the historical portrait, pointing to his popularity among the plebeians and his contribution to the arts. The only way to learn the truth would be to travel back in time. This sounds like a job for Superman!
