USA Today Covers Booster Gold One-Shot
As noted by MetalWoman in the Boosterrific Forum, Brian Truitt of USA Today has spoken with Dan Jurgens in anticipation of tomorrow's Booster Gold: Futures End #1. Here's what Jurgens had to say:
"There are going to be things that longtime DC readers respond very, very well to, and we're setting up some fairly major events and surprises for DC's current universe."
You can find the whole article — which includes both a preview of the comic as well as Futures End spoilers — at USAToday.com. You'll find Booster Gold: Futures End #1 in your Local Comic Shop tomorrow.

Sounds Like a Good Idea
In his "Countdown" article last week, Newsarama contributor Rob McMonigal suggested a variety of mostly familiar concepts for DC to relaunch following Futures End. One of those was Booster Gold.
When DC revealed their September
Futures End event one-shots, it didn't go unnoticed that Booster Gold was the character featured in a solo one-shot that didn't have their own solo series prior to September.Of course, now both October and November solicitations have come and gone, and still nothing.
Time travel seems to be en vogue (at both major publishers) at the moment, so DC's resident guy-from-the-future might have found his moment.
We sure hope so.
You can see the other titles in the Countdown at Newsarama.com.

I Had To Recode the Site To Make This Work
All the cover images on this website up to now have been static jpgs. However, next month we'll be getting our first ever Booster Gold lenticular image and DC has been kind enough to assemble animated gifs showing us what to expect.
I have a well-deserved reputation as a sourpuss, but I have to admit that I'm excited about this. I was never a huge fan of the cover gimmicks of the 90s, but then, Booster Gold never got one of those.
I think it's so cool to have a moving Booster Gold cover, I've had to rewrite the code base here at Boosterrific.com just so when the time comes, I'll be able to display it.
September 24 can't get here soon enough.

"I Think There's A Good Chance"
Dan Jurgens spoke to Josie Campbell of ComicBookResources.com, and he had a lot to say about Booster Gold's role in Futures End and beyond (and before).
CBR: In the "Futures End" weekly, we've got Terry McGinnis time traveling; as Booster Gold is also a time traveler, how much of what happens in "Futures End" going to impact your "Booster Gold: Futures End" one-shot?
Jurgens: Quite a lot, actually, and I think you have to step back a little farther than that in terms of the question. The last time we've seen Booster Gold [in the present] was in the Justice League International" annual of 2012. Since then, [other than his appearance in "All Star Western"] we haven't seen Booster until we saw him at that point. We're going to finally start to find out, was he taken? Did he just slip out of existence? Or did he go someplace else? This starts to deal with all that. It goes back to that point. We pick up on that, and we start to answer some of those questions, as well as how it relates to "Futures End." And then, as I said earlier, where does it go from there? It's definitely plugging in, in that very wide-scope kind of way.
Yep, I will definitely be buying 2 copies of Booster Gold: Futures End in September.
CBR: Is there a chance readers will see more Booster Gold coming up, either in "Aquaman And The Others" or perhaps in a solo book once again?
Jurgens: Yeah, I think there's a good chance. [Laughs]
Finally a new Booster Gold series? Yeah, I'd buy two of that, too!
If you love Booster Gold, you should read the whole article at ComicBookResources.com. Thanks to MetalWoman for calling it to our attention.

World Cup Fever
Futures End seems to be selling very well for DC. If 40% of their audience is buying it, the company must be very happy, indeed. How long untill all their titles are weekly?
Last week's poll question: Do you plan on buying the rest of FUTURES END? (55 votes)
The World Cup quarterfinals start tomorrow. While the international version of football — what we American call "soccer" — isn't my preferred type of football, I can appreciate that it might be someone else's. Which brings us to today's poll:
