A heartfelt moment between Superman and Superboy-Prime in the heart of El Caldero's Emerald City is interrupted by Booster Gold's literal cry for "help."

POWER DOWN: Booster Gold has been "strung up" since being captured by the Eradicatrix in Superman Unlimited #16. As issue writer Joshua Williamson is well aware, Booster has spent most of his time as a prisoner (either physically or mentally) since Williamson's Summer of Superman Special #1 released April 2025.

When Prime goes back and reads these issues, he'll see that slightly more than 50 identifiable characters (to say nothing of the unnamed characters with speaking parts and background extras) appear in the nine "Kingdom of Zod" crossover issues. Also, Booster Gold Volume 2 was canceled in August 2011, meaning it's been 15 years since Booster had his own title; 20 years passed between the cancellation of Booster Gold Volume 1 in October 1987 and the debut of Volume 2 in August 2007.

Look, I don't mean to criticize Superboy-Prime (he'd likely kill me if he found out), but he seemed awfully enthusiastic about time travel while he was punching his way through history at the Time Trapper's bidding in Superman #29.

Booster Gold is present as Zod returns from the past (in the "Time Bubble" Booster created from Epoch's technology in Action Comics #1100 and lost to Ursa in Superman #41) with Ursa, Supergirl, and Superboy. Also present are are Tomorrow Man, Lois Lane, and Connor Kent.
