POWER DOWN: On the way to "the Hot House" area of Mount Thunder alongside Amazing Man, Blue Beetle II, Captain Atom, and Maxima, Booster Gold is hit by a missile from behind. Booster's armor is knocked off-line along with its life-support systems. Booster is temporarily unable to breathe until the armor's backups kick-in.

Booster's armor is apparently jump-started by Maxima. Maxima has displayed a variety of powers, including metal manipulation, though how she has jump-started Booster's armor is unclear.

Because of Booster's recent brush with death, he and Blue Beetle stay behind with Amazing Man as Captain Atom and Maxima continue to the Hot House for their first and final confrontation with General Synge, a rogue Air Force officer determined to save America from its enemies through any means necessary.
