"Let's go home, Kid!" Is this an intentional Star Wars reference? It feels like an intentional Star Wars reference to when Han Solo arrives in the nick of time in the Millennium Falcon to save Luck Skywalker from Darth Vader, then in close up yells "You're all clear kid! Now let's blow this thing and go home!" Yeah, that's intentional.

Booster Gold and Superman embrace after Superman saved Booster Gold from years of torture by the Dark Legion of Super-Heroes in Superman #30, and Booster saved Superman here. It's worth remembering that the two were frenemies for many, many years, beginning with their first contentious meeting in Booster Gold #6.

Booster laughs it off, but it was Superman winning the DC K.O. tournament in DC K.O. #5 that saved Booster from Darkseid's control. So Booster probably owes Superman at least one more save before they're even.

At Superman's urging, Booster sets the Time Sphere to take them back to the present day. Booster tempts fate by asking "What could possibly go wrong?" Apparently, Booster hasn't read any DC Comics comic books from the "All In" era (beginning in DC All In Special #1, when things went very, very wrong).
Boosterrific Review: I found this anniversary issue to be incredibly satisfying, both for its required primer of select highlights of Superman's history as well as the emotional reunion of Booster Gold and Superman. It doesn't redeem the "All In" era, but at least it remembers that when the DC Universe works, it's because the characters are written like real people, not action figure plot devices. Congratulations to all for sticking the landing.
