Just Take My Wallet
Three things today:
Thing 1: Although I don't normally watch movie trailers — they lie! — I made an exception for the upcoming Blue Beetle, which for legal reasons isn't titled Blue Spider-Man. I was thinking to myself, "This isn't for me," when the trailer gave me this:
The Bug! That is definitely for me. I still doubt we'll be seeing Booster Gold onscreen in that movie, but the trailer now makes me think we'll definitely be some Booster Gold Easter Eggs. We'll find out more in August.
Thing 2: This is only tangentially related to Booster Gold, but Mark Russell, writer of Booster Gold / The Flintstones Special team-up, has launched a Kickstarter to sell his own book of cartoons, Bunkbed Mishaps. One of the reward tiers includes a signed copy of The Flintstones: The Deluxe Edition collection with reprints the aforementioned team-up.
Full disclosure: I'm a big fan of all of Russell's writing (everything from God Is Disappointed in You to My Bad), so of course I'll be buying Bunkbed Mishaps. If you're interested in learning more about his latest project (or getting your hands on a signed Booster Gold comic), you'll find info at Kickstarter.com.
Thing 3: While we're on the subject of things I will be buying on Kickstarter, I might as well go ahead and throw my public support behind Karl Kesel's latest Impossible Jones comic book. Maybe you know Kesel as the creator of the Connor Kent incarnation of Superboy, but Booster boosters should always remember that he inked the fantastic story "When Titans Date" in Justice League Quarterly #10 (where Booster Gold and his fellow leaguers spy on Ted Kord's dinner date).
In addition to being a lot of fun to read, Kesel's Impossible Jones character raises similar ethical questions about what it means to steal your way to being a "hero" as a certain Michael "Booster" Carter. You can read more about her latest adventure, Impossible Jones and American A.N.G.E.L., on Kickstarter.com.
Okay, that's enough shilling for today. You may now resume your regularly scheduled ad-free Internet browsing.

Blue and Gold Dynomighty Wallets
Remember back in February when we learned about Dan Jurgens' least favorite Booster Gold drawing ever? Now it's available on a wallet!
Though you can have your pick of DC Comics-themed styles of Mighty Wallets on Dynomighty.com, if you want Blue and Gold (as drawn by Chris Batista for Booster Gold, Volume 2, #34), you'll have to order it through your Local Comic Shop. This sucker is a Previews Exclusive. From the item description on previewsworld.com:
The outside of the wallet features images & logos of heroes Booster Gold and Blue Beetle, while the inside features classic artwork from the pages of DC Comics! Made of 100% eco-friendly recyclable, tear-resistant, and water-resistant material. Includes 2 large pockets for cash and receipts, 2 credit card pockets that expand to hold lots of cards, and 2 quick access business card pockets.
(I know this is nit-picky, but that's the Infinite Crisis era Jaime Reyes "Blue Beetle" logo. I hope this is just mock-up art, and the actual wallet has the Crisis on Infinite Earths era Ted Kord "Blue Beetle" logo as seen on Convergence Blue Beetle. I always insist on period accuracy when it comes to the decoration on my wallets.)
The wallet ships in late May, but you'll want to get your order in now!

Vote with Your Wallet
As someone whose hobby is tracking the minutiae of Booster Gold comic books, you can probably guess how I voted.
Last week's poll question: How do you feel about Booster Gold continuity? (48 votes)
Last night on The Daily Show, Jon Stewart poked fun at the many items presidential candidates are selling to drum up support for their campaigns. I instantly thought that Booster Gold could do a better job selling t-shirts and beer koozies than any of the dozen-plus candidates. But does an ability to hawk gewgaws actually make someone a viable candidate for President of the United States of America?
Â
(By the way, no post tomorrow. Even Booster Gold takes a three-day weekend to celebrate American Independence Day!)

Nothing Says Etsy Like a Dead Sidekick
Two weeks ago, I found the cutest stuffed doll of Booster and Skeets at Etsy.com. This week, thanks in part to a post at the Firestorm Fan blog, I've found another Booster Gold-related Etsy product:
That's a one-of-a-kind, handmade wallet from the pages of Booster Gold, Vol. 1, #22, featuring the death of Booster's original sidekick, Goldstar. If you'd like to carry around your favorite hero in your pocket at the moment of his most devastating failure, this item is for you! (As a side note, this issue contains some of my favorite art from the first volume, so I have to say that I think it was a great choice for an issue to transform into an everyday object.)
This item is for sale at Etsy.com from micahmyer's comic book creations. micahmyers appears to be trying to corner the market on comic book-related wallets, with a wallets made from a selection of books, including characters such as Batman, Fire and Ice,and Guy Gardner. Hopefully some of those wallets include happier panels than the violent deaths of their sisters.
