ISSUE ANNOTATIONS

Image Copyright DC Comics

Page 2, panel 2
Booster Gold reacts frantically to a sudden downturn in the coma of Blue Beetle II. Nearby, the doctor is too busy with a nearly identical change in the condition of the Atom II to help Booster or Beetle.

Page 10, panel 5
Booster and Blue Beetle's physician are attacked by a knife-welding Doctor Destiny. Booster appears to have no idea who Destiny is despite the fact that he is among the League's oldest villains. Destiny first appeared in Justice League of America, Vol. 1, #5.

Page 18, panel 1
After several pages of hand-to-hand battle, and maniacal expository rants explaining why he no longer needs his precious Materioptikon to manipulate dreams, Doctor Destiny defeats Booster in combat. Destiny has never been much of a threat as a combatant without his dream-powers, but never before has he been quite so determined or insane.

Page 21, panel 1
The Justice League America returns from Doctor Destiny's "dreamverse" with a surprised Blue Beetle. Leaguers present are, from left to right, Booster Gold, Black Condor II, Martian Manhunter, Ray II, Wonder Woman, Blue Beetle, Guy Gardner, Agent Liberty, and Maxima. This is Booster Gold's first on-panel appearance with the new Justice League members Black Condor and the Ray.

ISSUE REVIEW

Boosterrific Review: Bloodwynd's secret is revealed. Or is it? Perhaps a dream issue wasn't the best time to reveal the secret, as the big surprise is difficult to believe while the League is trapped in an already unbelievable scenario. Timing is everything, and this issue doesn't have it.

Boosterrific Rating:

Gold Standard.
