Booster Gold International
First Appearance:
Booster Gold, Vol. 1, #16, 1987
First Meeting with Booster Gold:
Booster Gold, #16, 1987
Designed as an international conglomeration of companies with an emphasis on technology, Booster Gold International (BGI) was intended to be competition for such major corporations as LEX LUTHOR's LexCorp. The company was headquartered in a Metropolis mansion that was also the home of Booster Gold.
Booster Gold reorganized Goldstar, Inc. into Booster Gold International after returning from the 25th century for the second time. The BGI mansion utilized state-of-the-art technology in order to provide Booster and the BGI employees both safety and privacy from Booster's enemies.
BGI acquired several companies to feed its growing empire; most of these companies were technological in nature, though BGI did purchase United Mutual insurance company in order to fire the unethical Peter Cochran who made life difficult for Booster Gold following an embarrassing public run-in with the RAINBOW RAIDER.

First Meeting with Booster Gold:
Booster Gold, #5, 1986

DIRK DAVIS negotiated with Brysler Motors to produce the Boostermobile to specifications provided by Skeets I (see SKEETS) in exchange for Booster Gold's promotion of the new product. Booster became concerned about the deal when he realized that the Boostermobile would be marketed to the general public, raising the question of Booster's foes using Booster Gold endorsed products to commit crimes.
Daniel Jon Carter
First Appearance:
52 Week Fifteen, Vol. 1, 2006
First Meeting with Booster Gold:
52, #52, 2007

Skeets II (see SKEETS) located Daniel Carter in Cincinnati, Ohio. Daniel Carter would play an unsuspecting but pivotal role in the events of 52 (see SUPERNOVA).
Michelle Carter
First Appearance:
Booster Gold, Vol. 1, #5, 1986
First Meeting with Booster Gold:
Booster Gold, #15, 1987
Michelle Carter is the fraternal twin sister of Michael Jon "Booster" Carter, abandoned with her mother, Mrs. Carter, when Michael journeyed to the 20th century to adopt the role of super hero. In less than a year of time relative to Booster, he would return to the future and rejoin his sister while escaping persecution for the felony crime of unlawful time-travel (see BRODERICK). With little choice but to flee from authorities for aiding her brother, Michelle returned to 20th-century Metropolis with Michael.
The twins were never especially close to one another, and each hoped that living as exiles in their past would allow time to foster a strengthened relationship. However, their relationship would suffer another great setback when Michelle accidentally stumbled into the schemes of the DIMENSION X ALIENS. The JUSTICE LEAGUE was able to prevent the aliens' imminent invasion of Earth, but Booster Gold was unable to save the life of his sister.
Michelle's apparent death remained a major motivation in the life of Booster Gold. Booster vowed that Michelle's death should not be remembered as a mistake in the life of a man playing at heroics, but as an unwelcome casualty of his fight against evil.

Recently, Booster has had the good fortune of being reunited with Michelle through the intervention of RIP HUNTER, and Michelle has frequently joined her brother and his sidekick Skeets II (see SKEETS) as the costumed hero GOLDSTAR. Michelle had a brief association with a 20th-century man named Drew, who was reported killed in the destruction of Coast City by CYBORG SUPERMAN.
Checkmate
First Appearance:
Legends #3, 1987
First Meeting with Booster Gold:
Deathstroke, #49, 1995
Checkmate was formed as a secret American intelligence agency under the direction of spy-turned-bureaucrat Sarge Steel. The agency uses the game of chess as its theme, and is divided into two halves: white for intelligence and black for operations. The organization was disbanded by the United States government after MARTIAN MANHUNTER worked to prove that MAXWELL LORD had corrupted the agency. The United Nations has since revived the organization into the espionage and enforcement arm of the Security Council.
Booster Gold's first experience with Checkmate came when he joined the EXTREME JUSTICE team in answering Sarge Steel's holographic call for help against the terrorist bomb threat posed by the Crimelord.
Booster Gold and the reassembled Justice League International (see JUSTICE LEAGUE) later ran afoul of Checkmate and its new Black King, Taleb Beni Khalid-Isr, in their search for Lord.

Booster again met Crain during the cataclysm of Coast City, aiding her in saving four-year-old Grace Greene.
Dirk Davis
First Appearance:
Booster Gold, Vol. 1, #1, 1986
First Meeting with Booster Gold:
Booster Gold, #2, 1986
Dirk Davis is a public relations expert who became Booster Gold's manager.
Dirk Davis worked hard to make Booster Gold a household word. Like Booster, Davis' motivations were frequently financial; he had his daughter, Sarah Davis, to feed and clothe. Both the 1000 (see DIRECTOR OF DEATH) and the MANHUNTERS attempted to manipulate Davis against Booster, and as a result, the two are no longer on speaking terms.
Nurse Devlin
First Appearance:
Booster Gold, Vol. 1, #13, 1987
First Meeting with Booster Gold:
Booster Gold, #13, 1987
Nurse Devlin is an employee of Metropolis General Hospital who helped nurse Booster Gold back to health following his final confrontation with the DIRECTOR OF DEATH. She was very critical of Booster's motivations.
In fact, most of Booster Gold's encounters with medical personnel have been less than cordial. Doctor Klaus lectured Booster about his poor attitude while recovering from life threatening injuries by way of DEVASTATOR.
Carol Ferris
First Appearance:
Showcase #22, 1959
First Meeting with Booster Gold:
Justice League America, #112, 1996
Carol Ferris is the daughter of the founder and CEO of Ferris Aircraft, an aerospace research and development concern that has supplied the world with advanced aircraft and military hardware alike.
Though Booster Gold did not meet Carol Ferris at the time, Ferris Aircraft was among the sponsors of Booster Gold's CONGLOMERATE. After the disappearance of her lover, Hal Jordan, Carol Ferris was hired by the EXTREME JUSTICE team in order to support their operations in MOUNT THUNDER. The first meeting between Booster Gold and Carol Ferris has never been seen, though the careers and lives of the two have crossed on several occasions.
Carol Ferris has long been the unwilling host of the evil Star Sapphire, foe of Ferris' lover Hal Jordon (see GREEN LANTERN CORPS and STAR SAPPHIRES). Booster Gold battled Star Sapphire among other ECLIPSO-control heroes and villains as a member of the HEROES UNITED AGAINST ECLIPSO.)
Lord Galeb
First Appearance:
Booster Gold, Vol. 1, #7, 1986
First Meeting with Booster Gold:
Booster Gold, #7, 1986
Lord Galeb is the monarch of the planet Vellar, ruling with the aid of his powerful consort.
Still a novice hero, Booster Gold is manipulated by the alien known as Z to attack Lord Galeb. (Z, or Ranzee, had been brought to Booster Gold's attention only because Booster was the only hero that Z's human contact, Fern Redfern, could locate after failing to get the attention of SUPERMAN.) It takes Superman and Skeets I (see SKEETS) to convince Booster that Galeb is not the monster that Ranzee makes him out to be.
Mac Garrison
First Appearance:
Booster Gold, Vol. 21, #7, 1987
First Meeting with Booster Gold:
Booster Gold, #22, 1987

GiGi was a runaway and a pick-pocket when she made the mistake of trying to rip-off Booster Gold. Knowing that she was in for a rough future, Booster made a great effort to improve her life, changing her future and his own past in the process.
Gladys
First Meeting with Booster Gold:
Formerly Known as the Justice League, #1, 2003
Gladys is a wealthy woman (worth approximately $100 million), about 60 years of age, who was temporarily married to Booster Gold (as reported by Booster Gold himself). She has never been seen, but from details provided by Booster Gold, she enjoys watching the television shows Golden Girls, multiple cosmetic surgeries, and sexual costume play. It is unknown whether Gladys took Booster Gold's name upon their marriage; legally in the 20th century, Booster's last name is "Gold," which would make his wife Gladys Gold.
Booster Gold claimed to have married Gladys (maiden name unknown) during his temporary retirement from adventuring following the dissolution of the Justice League International. The marriage was short lived, and Booster now claims that he made the marriage up as a practical joke.

First Meeting with Booster Gold:

Booster Gold met the male Guardian Herupa Hando Hu and his female Zamarian counterpart Nadia Safir when the two Oans traveled to Earth to initiate the next step of human evolution (see HEROES OF THE MILLENNIUM).
Booster would later attend a party on the moon with Ganthet, the only mature member of the Guardians at the time, the rest having been newly resurrected by Kyle Rayner after their destruction at the hands of Parallax (see EXTANT).

Booster Gold and Harbinger both attended the GUARDIANS OF THE UNIVERSE's ceremony to evolve their "chosen" humans (see NEW GUARDIANS). It was Harbinger who encouraged MARTIAN MANHUNTER and the JUSTICE LEAGUE not to give up on Booster Gold after Booster appeared to turn traitor against the HEROES OF THE MILLENNIUM by joining the MANHUNTERS.

Despite the impressive security measures, the base has been invaded by villains such as MISTER MIND, REX HUNTER, and STARRO THE CONQUEROR.

The cats Jack and Jill had the run of Booster Gold's Goldstar, Inc., offices. The two cats were favorites of TRIXIE COLLINS, who was known to reject Goldstar clients who were impolite to the cats. Booster Gold very rarely was seen anywhere near his own cats, and Skeets I (see SKEETS) had an open distaste for them. When Booster Gold departed Metropolis, the cats were left in Trixie's care.

Justice League America, #33, 1989
In an attempt to keep their island kingdom safe from the imperialist expansionist tendencies of the United States of America and the Soviet Union, the Chief of KooeyKooeyKooey and his nephew Herb donated their island to the JUSTICE LEAGUE. This proved to be a less than ideal solution to the problem.
BLUE BEETLE II and Booster Gold embezzled funds from the operating budget of the Justice League in order to fund the construction of Club JLI, a resort/casino on the Justice League property KooeyKooeyKooey. Through the malicious intervention of Major Disaster, Big Sir (see INJUSTICE LEAGUE), and the island's own sentience, Club JLI's existence was fleeting but disastrous for the reputation of Booster and Beetle.

First Meeting with Booster Gold:
Booster Gold, #7, 1986
The star reporter for Metropolis' Daily Planet newspaper, Lois Lane is married to fellow reporter Clark Kent (see SUPERMAN).
Lois Lane has interviewed Booster Gold on several occasions, recognizing that a hero with a public persona is good copy for newspaper headlines. Despite admitting that Booster is good press, she has never shown much approval of his glory-seeking ways. Lois is often accompanied by Jimmy Olsen, a cub reporter and photographer for the Daily Planet.
Maxwell Lord
First Appearance:
Justice League, Vol. 1, #1, 1987
First Meeting with Booster Gold:
Booster Gold, #16, 1987

Shortly after John Charles Collins (as Judgment) broke up his first funeral, Lord reappeared as LORD HAVOK III. Years later, Lord became the Black King of Checkmate (see SARGE STEEL).
Maxwell Lord broke into Booster Gold's Metropolis BOOSTER GOLD INTERNATIONAL in order to offer Booster membership in the Justice League. For years, the two would be cronies, working together in the Justice League and SUPER BUDDIES for the good of society while profiting on their adventures. Booster briefly met Maxwell Lord's secretary, Ms. Wootenhoffer, who was later revealed as an agent of the MANHUNTERS.
In one of his adventures through time, Booster saves the life of Lord's ancestor, Cyril Lord, from ENEMY ACE in World War I.

It is unclear if the second Reilleau Towers was ever finally erected.

It was the first headquarters of the League and has been used by other heroic super teams over the years, including the DOOM PATROL and Young Justice.
Booster Gold's first trip to the Secret Sanctuary with MAXWELL LORD was interrupted by the ROYAL FLUSH GANG. Even after the creation of the JUSTICE LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL EMBASSIES, Booster and the League would continue to make use of the hanger within Justice Mountain to house their large equipment and aircraft, including the flying Bug of BLUE BEETLE II.
Skeets
First Appearance:
Booster Gold, Vol. 1, #1, 1986 (Skeets I)
Infinite Crisis, Vol. 1, #2, 2006 (Skeets II)
First Meeting with Booster Gold:
Booster Gold, #8, 1986
Without a doubt, Skeets can be considered Booster Gold's sidekick. Diminutive and endearing -- and rather coincidentally shaped like an American football -- Skeets serves Booster loyally as a strategic, technical, and cultural adviser as well as an occasional battle partner. Without Skeets, Booster Gold would never have been able to rise to the levels of wealth and prominence that Booster has managed to achieve. Booster has frequently referred to his small golden companion as "Coach."
Skeets is a robot from the future that Michael Jon "Booster" Carter stole to provide historical detail for his adventures as a twentieth-century super hero. Rather than resenting Booster's kidnapping of him, Skeets has always assumed the role of co-conspirator in Booster's plans for the "present." In fact, Skeets has suggested that it willingly joined Booster's schemes because the existence of a twentieth-century Booster Gold is a historical fact in the 25th century, mandating its involvement to ensure history.
Skeets I was a 25th-century BX9 Security Robot owned by the SPACE MUSEUM. This Skeets was stolen by Booster when he journeyed to the present. Skeets I notably lacked a sense of humor and relied heavily on its onboard stun ray, which fired from its red visor. During most of Booster Gold's tenure with the JUSTICE LEAGUE and CONGLOMERATE, Skeets was deactivated and stored. In later versions of Booster Gold's 20th-century armor, Skeets served as an integrated operating system. Skeets I was confirmed destroyed some months after Booster changed power suits and once again returned Skeets to its original body.
Skeets II is a 25th-century valet robot. Skeets II returned from the future with Booster Gold during the Infinite Crisis. It remains unclear from what point in time Skeets II was retrieved and how Skeets II is different from Skeets I other minor changes in their exterior design. It has been hinted that Skeets II has limited time travel capabilities and that its exoskeleton is made up of the skin of the chrononaut WAVERIDER, though this remains unconfirmed. Certainly Skeets II has demonstrated prehensile arms and a sense of sarcasm that Skeets I never possessed.
Following its manipulation by MISTER MIND, Skeets II has undergone another physical change, appearing much slimmer than previously. In addition, Skeets II has been upgraded and extensively reprogrammed by RIP HUNTER to improve its encyclopedic knowledge of historical events as well as sharing time travel capabilities with Booster. Following this reprogramming, Skeets has again become more distant from Booster, and not surprisingly, more loyal to the goals and ideals of his programmer, Rip Hunter.
Jack Soo
First Appearance:
Booster Gold, Vol. 1, #7, 1986
First Meeting with Booster Gold:
Booster Gold, #13, 1987

Ami Soon
First Appearance:
52 Week Seven, Vol. 1, 2006
First Meeting with Booster Gold:
52, #7, 2006
Ami Soon is a reporter for Metropolis' Channel Five news.
When news broke that Booster Gold had been hiring actors to impersonate villains in order to improve his public image (see MANTHRAX), Ami Soon was among the first reporters to begin accusing Booster of fraud. Soon continued her cynical ways by accusing SUPERNOVA of slaughtering thousands of Metropolis' citizens.
Soon follows in the footsteps of other reporters quick to call Booster Gold a fraud, such as Sam Carson of Metropolis Today and Cindy Mills of WGBS. Daily Planet reporter Ty Duffy never openly disrespected Booster Gold, but his reporting was generally dismissive of the positive aspects of super heroes interacting with the public.
Space Museum
First Appearance:
Strange Adventures, #104, 1959
First Meeting with Booster Gold:
Booster Gold, #6, 1986
The Space Museum of Metropolis houses exhibits celebrating centuries of super heroic artifacts. After being expelled from Gotham University, Michael Jon Carter was hired by the Museum as a night watchmen. It was here that Booster first met Skeets I (see SKEETS) and hatched the idea to steal exhibits from the Museum and travel back through time to the 20th century to become a super hero.
Booster Gold has revisited the Museum since his employment there, "borrowing" RIP HUNTER's Time Sphere on display a second time.
Simon Stagg
First Appearance:
The Brave and the Bold, Vol. 1, #57, 1964
First Meeting with Booster Gold:
Justice League America, #32, 1989
Industrialist Simon Stagg is among the most successful men in America. His devious mind has driven his company, Stagg Industries, to a world powerhouse.
Booster Gold first met Simon Stagg and his assistant Java while the JUSTICE LEAGUE was trying to save his European chemical plant from a plague-bearing mob engineered by former Stagg employee Irwin Teasdale. A short time later, Booster found himself leading the CONGLOMERATE, a team financed in part by Stagg Industries.

First Appearance:

Booster Gold has cooperated with S.T.A.R. Labs since his earliest adventures against the 1000 and Mindancer (see DIRECTOR OF DEATH). S.T.A.R. Labs technology and scientists (such as Doctor Klyburn and JACK SOO) have been invaluable to Booster, providing him and the JUSTICE LEAGUE with equipment and information. In Booster's return trips to the 25th century, S.T.A.R. Labs is seen to still maintain a Metropolis branch, proving that even well into the future, it will be a viable technological research organization.

Amanda Waller is the efficient but amoral government bureaucrat who has long coordinated covert teams of super powered individuals such as Task Force X (also known as the SUICIDE SQUAD) and Checkmate (see SARGE STEEL). She has long worked behind the scenes in promoting the interests of the United States, often coming into conflict with the heroes of the world who disapprove of her realistic political approach to solving delicate problems.
Amanda Waller was one of the chief strategists for Earth's HEROES OF THE INVASION against the ALIEN ALLIANCE when she first worked with Booster Gold and the JUSTICE LEAGUE. Since that time, Booster and Waller have worked together to confront several major threats to the world.

The Yazz was a blue-skinned, winged alien that served as the technician on board the OVERMASTER's Earth-orbiting Refuge.
Booster Gold met Yazz for the first and only time when he and the EXTREME JUSTICE team visited the Refuge after WONDER WOMAN had anointed it the headquarters of her branch of the JUSTICE LEAGUE.
