Art of the (Gold) Brick
Both fine art and LEGO lovers have united in praise of the work of artist Nathan Sawaya. When he joined forces with DC Comics to create his "The Art of the Brick: DC Comics" exhibitions, we knew we would see some cool stuff. How little did we realize just how cool it would be.
Yes, that's Booster Gold built entirely out of LEGO bricks. Booster is just one of many, many DC Comics figures, covers, and other inspired pieces (including a life-sized Batmobile) now on exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney, Australia.

How great is it that Booster Gold, a former janitor inspired by a museum exhibition of heroes to travel back in time to become a hero himself, now has his own statue in a museum display of heroes? That's Boosterrific!
The exhibition runs through April in Sydney before moving on to the next leg of its worldwide tour (wherever that might be). So if you happen to be in Sydney before May, drop in and say hello to our favorite hero. Otherwise, cross your fingers. Booster Gold may be coming to a museum near you.
Thanks to The Blot and iron_paw for bringing this amazing sculpture to our attention.

The Blot's Sketchbook Strikes Back
The Blot had a busy summer. He picked up these fine sketch commissions for his Booster Gold sketchbook at Space City Comic Con:
From left to right, that's the work of Norm Rapmund, Scot Kolins, and Sean Galloway as the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd drawings in The Blot's Booster Gold sketchbook. You can see them and the other 20 pieces in much larger detail at The Blot Says' Flickr page. Thanks, Blot!

The Blot Does It Again
While some of us have been wasting time with things like vacations, The Blot has been studiously adding to his already overflowing Booster Gold Sketchbook.
Those are The Blot's newest pieces by (clockwise from top left) Simon Bisley, Tom McLeod, Katie Cook, and Mike McKone. Click on any one of them to see a larger copy.
Keep up the good work, Blot!

Spread the Word
This weekend The Blot asked me for a Booster Gold 30th Anniversary badge so that he could promote Booster Gold on his website, TheBlotSays.com. That got me thinking that maybe I should make one for everybody.
So there you go. Steal that image and post it somewhere you think it will remind people of the awesomeness of Booster Gold, even if that place is just your own desktop.

The Blot's Booster Gold Sketchbook Reborn
Earlier in the week, I showed you The Blot Says' "lost" Booster Gold commission from earlier this year. That was not, however, his latest. That would be this, posted to Twitter.com:
A rare Booster Gold sketch by living legend Rob Liefeld! Liefeld has never drawn Booster Gold in any comic book, and I've never seen a Liefeld-drawn Booster Gold before (despite what you might see on the Internet).
I'll just leave this here where you can stare at it all weekend. Enjoy.
