Don't worry about the clutter, TGB. I only want the posts to be relevant in perpetuity, in so much as that is possible in an archive for daily updates about a specific comic book character. I'd rather have someone like you around filling the comments with bad links than some of those typical internet trolls who would like to fill the comments with links to cheap Viagra prescriptions.

Some thoughts on Blue and Gold.... As much as I enjoy Ted Kord, and do hope he is returned someday, I have come to believe that his death has elevated the character beyond what it was when BB was alive. Perhaps the phenomenon is similar to how the Flash's death in CoIE #8 in many ways created the "Saint Barry" perception. It has provided all kinds of character development for Booster Gold. Ted's death was and is important. And the Jaime Reyes character is good. It took a while, but the new BB has grown on me quite a bit. But if the character is to ever properly assume the legacy, he absolutely must establish a believable and entertaining relationship with Booster. Ted and Booster are defined by one another. The Blue and Gold have a respected place in comicland consciousness and its "absence" creates a vacuum to be filled. So here comes Giffen, who established the Blue and Gold in the first place. Can he catch lightning again? Part of me really hopes so. In fact, Gen Lost could suck as a story but would be completely redeemed in the long run if Jaime and Booster build a relationship of which people want to see more. I, for one, wish him luck in the effort.

Ditto on everything you said Harry. But at the same time there also has to be a different sort of bond between Jaime and Booster, which I think can be neatly built from his appearance in the Blackest Night tie in. Other than Dick Grayson and Skeets, Jaime in the only one in JLGL who knows anything about Boosters' time traveling. That sort of gives them a bond that even his other JLI team members don't have.

Also, looking ahead at the plot through issue 8 on the DC site, it's hard to not be a little optimistic about where it will go.

I never read previews. I much prefer to be surprised. I'll read them all based on the fact that Booster is in them whether they are good or not or whether they are hyped or not. I can't judge the value of a comic based on books that do not exist. If a comic book can't stand on its own legs, I can't recommend it no matter what else it may be tied to.

I can understand that. I get a little impatient sometimes. I'm going to read it anyway as well, but they wouldn't give it away if it mattered, so I suppose it's like a trailer for a movie.

But movie trailers DO give it all away, and that's pretty much my point. I don't want to know the who, what, when, where, and how before I read the book.

You do have a point. I meant that they wouldn't put it up if it was so important that it gave away the meat of the story. Still, I was actually intending to peek at covers and couldn't help but see some of the summary. Your mention of being a little more pessimistic is what made me look ahead anyway. It's your fault! Rawr! You jerk! (/sarcasm) Long-term, I think this is going to be good. These guys know Max better than anyone, and now they are the only ones who know him PERIOD. All are probably willing to screw the system to get it done if they have to, except maybe Captain Atom (though his backstory is such a mess as it is, maybe he has at some point). And with Max working to discredit them and turn them from fame to infamy at every turn, you can almost guarantee that they're going to have to go through some of the white hats too.

At least we're see what he does in Time Masters. But really I'm more annoyed that Bruce got one over Rip Hunter who's a freaking Time Master. The guy that has that remote to the time platform for emergency uses that says that the time sphere is their only escape. Which means that they have to trust Bruce to be able to figure out this mess without them.

Dan Jurgens would have to address that in the Time Masters series. It wouldn't be too much of a Batman story if Bruce had to be rescued outright, though. "Return of Bruce Wayne" is supposed to be all about Bruce Wayne, greatest detective of all time, pitting his wits against time itself, after all.

I get that it's a Batman story. and I'm sure that Jurgens will flesh out Booster's role. I'm just miffed that so far Morrison hasn't come up with anything for Booster to do than stand around and look stupid. He doesn't have to save the day, but he should really be more than scenery if he's going to be included in each issue.

I feel the same. If you are going to bother to show Rip and Booster have them do something useful since this is the field they work in. Yes Bruce has to shine but for him to have information about time that confuses Rip? That makes no sense especially since we know from BG that Rips' very aware of Hypertime. And given the change in the relationship between Bruce and Booster it would be a perfect time to develop it further. Instead it just looks like no one but Bruce can do anything right.
