Change We Can Believe In

In March, we learned that DC Collectibles doesn't think there's a market for Booster Gold and Blue Beetle figures.

George Pooley wants to prove them wrong.

George has created an online petition with the goal of convincing DC to change their minds and give us the figures we wanted so badly. He's looking for a minimum of 100 signatures. Will you be one of them?

Add your name at Change.org.

This Day in History: Generation Deleted

On this day seven years ago, DC released Justice League: Generation Lost #1. It was a good story, proving that the "Bwah-Ha-Ha" era Justice League was more than just a bunch of clowns. They were a family who, even when the chips were down, always got the job done. (Eventually.)

The ending of this popular, year-long series promised us a new Justice League International only to see the events of "Flashpoint" erase this story from history one month later. (I still haven't forgiven Barry Allen.) The Justice League International of the New 52 technically fulfilled that promise, but that team had nothing to do with the one, true JLI.

Oh, well. We still have our back issues.

Dave Does Draw Good

Free Comic Book Day 2017 was this past Saturday, and artist Dave Acosta (of Vampirella and Red Sonja fame) was signing and sketching for fans at Detroit Comics. He posted pics of much of his work on his Twitter feed (@davedrawsgood), including a sketch of this handsome hero.

Spectacular Advertisement

This week we thank Ken Harrison for providing a scan of this Justice League Spectacular house ad printed in DC's Impact Comics line in April 1992.

© DC Comics
Art by Dan Jurgens & Ron Randall

I found it while looking through a copy of The Black Hood #5 in a very, very large box of damaged comics. The issue belonged to Ken Harrison, creator of the comic Steviebear, who recently lost much of his comic collection in a house fire. His late father, Gordon, had been a collector since the dawn of the Silver Age, and many valuable comics were destroyed by fire and water.

It's a small consolation, but at least some part of his father's collection now lives on here at Boosterrific.com.

It's a Mad, Mad, Mad World

Today's Booster Gold fan art was created a few years ago, but I don't think I've featured it before, an oversight I'm finally correcting.

Jeff Diolata is the artist of this fine piece. You'll find him under the pen name arsenalgearxx on DeviantArt.com.
