New Old Releases: Planetary Omnibus
Today, DC Comics is releasing a comic that has nothing to do with Booster Gold. That's nothing new. However, today DC is giving you something else that is almost as awesome.
If you haven't ever read Planetary, now's your chance. The Planetary Omnibus hits stores today, and collects the entire series and its 3 crossover issues with Batman, the JLA, and the Authority. The book has a cover price of $75.00. That might sound expensive, but its totally worth it.
If you can't tell, I'm a big fan of the series. I've spent so much time complaining around here lately, it's nice to have a chance to promote something that I like. I think you'll like it, too.

This Day in History: Not Dead Yet
Remember Skeets? Booster Gold's robot sidekick? (You do still remember Booster Gold, right?)
Skeets hasn't been seen much lately, but he had his time in the spotlight in the past. Our favorite 24-karat coach took up the whole cover of 52 Week 37, released on this day in 2007.
This is not the cover of 52 Week 37.
I'm not going to link to the cover here because it is spoiler-y, but rest assured, there's a lot Skeets action both on the cover and the pages within. It's hardly the highlight of Skeets' sidekicking career, but as Booster himself would say: there's no such thing as bad press.
If you've never read 52, do yourself a favor: Amazon.com
(P.S.: No post on Monday. Back on Tuesday. Enjoy your weekend!)

O Booster, Where Art Thou Still?
Only one vote for a Hollywood script writer? Did Jeff Katz vote this week?
Last week's poll question: Who should write the next Booster Gold comic book? (39 votes)
I wonder how many of you have someone particular in mind?
This week's poll is the same question I asked when Justice League International was canceled back in 2012. (Been a long time, hasn't it?) I'll point out that most voters back then were overly optimistic.

Life Was Better When
Today is Wednesday, New Comics Day at comic shops across America. In Wednesdays past, Booster Gold occasionally showed up in a new comic or two. But not lately.
There are a lot of eras in American history that I would prefer not to revisit. Slavery. The Trail of Tears. Witch Trials. But Booster Gold appearing occasionally in my Local Comic Shop? Yeah, I could go back to that.
