Rebirth of Hope
A month into Rebirth, most Booster Gold fans see it as a positive (even though there has been no hint of a Booster Gold appearance coming any time soon).
Last week's poll question: How satisfied are you with Rebirth so far? (58 votes)
I was feeling that way, too, until I read this week's Superman #1. No spoilers, but it's got a Geoff Johns' Superboy Prime vibe plus an "everything you think you know is a lie" moment that I really didn't care for. If this is the flagship title of the new Rebirth event, it feels like more of the same old DCnU to me.
I hate to judge a title (much less a whole universe) on one issue, so here's hoping my first impression was wrong.
(And whatever I think about the other Rebirth books, I've still got Dan Jurgens writing Action. Jurgens' Superman is still my Superman, no matter what else is happening in the wider DCnU.)

This Day in History: Booster Gold Inaction
Justice League America #78 was released on this date 23 years ago. I like to remember it as the time that Jay Garrick (the original Flash) lied to Booster Gold.
Despite what you see in the panel above, when Garrick led the post-"Death of Superman" Justice League into action, Booster was left at home.
Ah, the good old days. In hindsight, Booster should have been happy to appear on panel at all. #FreeBoosterGold

Smuggies Blue and Gold
Booster Gold and Blue Beetle (and Skeets!) as drawn by CapybaraINK on DeviantArt.com:
The artist called them Smuggies, but I think they look more like Smirkies. They sure seem to be satisfied to be together.

Three Weeks into Rebirth
DC's Rebirth seems to be generating a wide range or reaction from fans. I hear a lot of positive about it online, and the owner of my Local Comic Shop says sales have been great. However, he is quick to point out that Convergence sales started out great, too, before nose-diving once fans realized that the event was all gimmick with negligible impact on continuity.
Conversations with readers at my LCS indicate that while they are buying the books, they aren't excited by what they see as the latest in a string of events that promise big changes but leave everyone dissatisfied. Does that sound like an accurate representation of your feelings towards this latest event?

A Different Kind of Rainbow Raider
Brian McLachlan and Aaron Hanson have broken down the combinations of primary color pairings to discuss the color theory of how they affect our perception of heroes. Booster Gold, in his "confident" blue and "energetic" yellow, is included among the examples.
You can find the whole article at ComicAlliance.com. I thought it was worth the read. (If you do review it, keep in mind that Dan Jurgens decided on Booster's color scheme before finalizing any other costume details.)
