The advance solicitations for DC Comics shipping in August have been released. You can see them all at ComicBookResources.com. What you won't find is any indication that we'll be seeing Booster Gold. Oh, well. He has to show up eventually, right? (Does Warner Brothers know it's spending money on a character that the public has barely seen in years?)

On a related note, DC is rolling out a new logo, and I want to congratulate them on at least one change for the better.

It's not perfect (it looks like the overly stylized number font found on modern Detroit Lions jerseys), but it is a huge improvement on the pudding-cup inspired logo that the company has been using since rolling out the New 52. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

If DC is taking a step back as they step forward, maybe next time we see Booster Gold, he'll have his high collar back, too. (I can dream.)

For decades, you could pick up a copy of Booster Gold, Volume 1, #1 for nominally more than its 75¢ cover price. However, ever since SyFy announced that they would be making a Booster Gold television show in 2011, the price of his first appearance has skyrocketed.

I frequently see sellers offering slabbed copies for about $400, although you can acquire one in great condition for much closer to $40 if you are patient and don't care to have your comic trapped inside a plastic cocoon. (Booster Gold, Volume 2, #1, on the other hand, is still readily available for about $4!)

Recent confirmation that Warner Brothers is working on a movie about our hero is likely to make these prices keep climbing. Silver Age Marvel comics — always desirable — have gone through the roof since the Marvel Cinematic Universe became all the rage. Although Booster Gold #1 is unlikely to ever be as valuable as Amazing Fantasy #15, Booster would certainly be pleased to learn that his own comics are becoming sought-after collectibles in their own right.

There can be no more doubt about whether Warner Brothers is working on a Booster Gold movie. Yesterday, in an interview with Lacey Rose of the Hollywood Reporter, Legends of Tomorrow executive producer Greg Berlanti had this to say:

I'm attached to a few films [at Warner Bros.] now, and one, Booster Gold, is a DC property. Zack Stentz, who wrote an episode of Flash last year, just got the job, so he's writing the script now. I'd probably direct that, or I would want to.

Zack Stentz is perhaps better known as the writer of Thor and the new Power Rangers movie. I'm disappointed that Berlanti's associate Andrew Kreisberg, writer of Justice League Unlimited's "The Greatest Story Never Told" and SyFy's 2011 undeveloped Booster Gold television show, appears to be off the project, but I look forward to Stentz's take on our favorite hero.

This past weekend, I discovered that Booster Gold appeared on the cover of the June 2007 issue of Previews.

In case you're unaware, Previews is Diamond Comics Distributors in-house catalog of upcoming comic releases. Diamond distributes the magazine to comic specialty shops so that shop owners can place orders. Many shops make the catalog available to their customers, but it's really an industry tool.

Should this be in the Boosterrific database as a cover appearance? It's really just an ad for Booster Gold Volume 2 #1, and I cover that on the Advertisements page. I must have been aware of this when it was released, and I'm sure I didn't consider it a "cover appearance" then. I'm not sure my opinion has changed.
