Lucky City
I love praise, and I also love seeing Booster Gold in comics. So I especially love this message I got last week from Rasalonn:
Hi. Love the blog. In the new Catwoman book, Zatanna is shown working at a casino. And there is a single image of the casino and it has to be owned by Booster Gold . Does that count? Even if it's not him, it is a clear reference to him.
The book Rasalonn is talking about is Catwoman: Lonely City #4, which takes place ten years after the death of Batman. Pictured on page 4 of that issue is this sequence:
written, drawn, colored by Cliff Chiang
So is that "Gold's" casino a reference to former gambler Booster Gold? I don't know. The last time we saw a Las Vegas casino of the future (in 2019's Old Lady Harley #3), the Booster Gold connection was more clear.
Lonely City gives us no more hints than what we see in those panels, but CBR.com certainly agrees with Rasalonn. Too bad issue #4 is the finale. I hope DC greenlights a sequel just so we can find out for sure.
Thank you, Rasalonn, for bringing this to our attention.

Couple of Boobs
Last Monday when I asked if anyone had any suggestions for art to add to my corner box collection, Diego Segovia suggested "That cover where Zatanna turns Booster, Beetle, and Skeets into women."
Sadly, there is no such cover. However, I'm pretty sure that the Internet exists just to "correct" that sort of problem.
This, I think is the piece to which Diego was referring:
That's not technically a cover but a commission drawn by Lofton Wallace in 2012. And technically, I've never posted this art before. Technically. (Though I did link to it in the comments when I posted the original line art six years ago.)
Despite all those technicalities, Diego's comment gives me a good excuse to revisit it because even six years later, it's still a lot of fun.
You can find more of Wallace's work on his website, lostonwallace.com, or over on deviantart.com.

An Honor to be Nominated
Waaaay back in October, ComicBookResources.com declared Booster Gold to be the 24th best DC Comics character. Booster received 634 total points in the reader poll, including 11 first place votes! How could I have missed that?
Booster was sandwiched between Zatanna and Captain Marvel. Neither of them has their own comic book either.
You can find the whole list of the "2015 Top 100 DC Characters" at ComicBookResources.com.

Ekam Steeks a Puc-c!
Sufficiently advanced technology could be indistinguishable from magic, but Booster's 25th-century tech may have met its match in Zatanna's wand.
The delightful piece above of Zatanna working her magic on Blue and Gold (and Skeets!) was drawn as a commission by Loston Wallace. You can find more of Wallace's work on his website, lostonwallace.com, or over on deviantart.com.
