Jurgens and Martinez Talk Convergence

Do you still have any reservations about the upcoming Convergence: Booster Gold? Well, let the issue's writer and artist put your mind at ease.

IGN: What would you say to fans to get them excited for your comic?

Dan Jurgens: Booster Gold! Superboy! The Legion of Super Heroes! And a special guest star that everyone wants to see in a Booster story! I don't think we need more than that!

Alvaro Martinez: They'll get to see a lot of places and characters they haven't seen in a long time. Also, all the questions they may have from Booster Gold: Futures End will be answered. Oh, and a very very long awaited reunion will take place!

A long-awaited reuinon? I'm sure he must be talking about Booster Gold and Skeets!

You can find the whole interview as part of Jesse Schedeen's article covering all the week 4 Convergence titles at

Booster Gold Will Always Be No. 1 on My List

Jesse Schedeen has composed his list of "The Top 25 Heroes of DC Comics" for I might not agree with the entire list, but I can't argue that Booster Gold deserves to be on it.

When you're a washed-up athlete in a world full of futuristic technology, how do you recapture that lost glory? Why, by stealing a bunch of gear and traveling back in time to present yourself as the world's greatest superhero, of course. Folks in the present day DC Universe don't tend to see Booster Gold as the great hero he imagines himself to be. He's more of a running joke. But he perseveres, and over the years he's proven that he really does have the right stuff. The combination of goofball humor and time travel antics always make Booster's misadventures fun to read.

If you ask me, "fun to read" should be what every comic book should strive for. Hopefully we'll see Booster bring fun back to the DCnU soon.

Thanks to Russ Burlingame for passing me this list.

Booster Gold the Television Show Update

Wednesday, published an interview between Jesse Schedeen and Andrew Kreisberg. Most of the Q&A focuses on The CW's Arrow, which Kreisberg executive produces, but Schedeen managed to save the most important question for last:

IGN Comics: Before we end off, I wanted to ask about another show you've been working on. Back during SDCC you revealed that you were preparing to submit your first script for the Booster Gold series you're developing for SyFy. Is there any update on that show right now?

Kreisberg: [laughs] I got a little waylaid by Arrow. Booster Gold is going in in the next couple weeks before Christmas. We'll see what happens from there. It's such a different project even though they're both DC Comics properties. Booster is much more candy and popcorn, being about time travel and changing the future and being a superhero who can fly. But they're both super-fun projects. As a lifelong DC Comics fan, I am beyond blessed to be working on these projects with all these amazing characters.

Booster Gold fans certainly have something to look foward to this Christmas season! Thanks to Russ Burlingame at and MetalWoman in the Boosterrific Forum for bringing this bit of good news to our attention.
