Wearing a United Nations Hazardous Materials (HazMat) suit, Booster airlifts Mister Miracle out of the range of a cloud of (potentially) fatal gas.

Appearance of industrialist Simon Stagg. Stagg was once the employer of archeologist Rex Mason and was indirectly responsible for his gaining the powers that transformed him into Metamorpho, the Element Man in The Brave and the Bold, Vol. 1, #57. Though Booster once ran an international empire that would have likely crossed paths with Stagg, this is their first depicted meeting (and Booster isn't even on-panel).

In flashback, Teasdale mentions that he is researching a disease called Poryphrya. There actually is a disease called Porphyria, and as Teasdale indicates, there is evidence to suggest that the disease may be the scientific basis for vampiric legend.
Page 20, panel 1
Appearance of Java, a prehistoric man rescued from suspended animation by Rex Mason and employed by Simon Stagg. Java is also Metamorpho's rival for the affection of Sapphire Stagg.
