Several of you said last week's poll was a hard choice, but there was ultimately one clear winner.
Last week's poll question: If you could choose only one writer for all future Booster Gold appearances ever, who would it be? (46 votes)
Two issues ago, the Justice League International lost 4 members. Since then three new members have joined the title to replace them. With one open spot and a few other New 52 characters looking for a new home, should any of them end up in the JLI?

Tough choice (minus Hawk and Dove). I loved Mister Terrific's series in the Nu52 and I can easily see some funny moments, even with all the seriousness going on, happening between his genius and Booster's technology. I can see him wanting to tweak it and examine it. Rock seems like an interesting fit given that as far as I can remember, the JLI has never had a gunslinger on their team. As for Static, as much as he'd be a good fit in the Titans, the JLI needs a young gun if Jaime's not there

None of the above.

If you change Booster Gold to make him popular, isn't the newly popular character no longer Booster Gold? At least, that's what decades of tween-friendly Disney movies have been preaching to me.
Last week's poll question: Would you rather that Booster Gold remain an obscure character with his current personality and powers intact, or that Booster Gold gain more mass appeal even if it meant changing the character? (41 votes)
As webmaster here at Boosterrific.com, I'm of the opinion that there are three main camps of Booster Gold fans. The first group is most loyal to the work of character creator Dan Jurgens. Jurgens' work tends towards the serious, if somewhat routine and unspectacular aspects of heroics. His characters and adventures are believable and grounded, using naturalism to create the belief that his heroes could be living in a real world.
The second group came to the character as fans of the original Justice League International, and therefore are attached to the outlandish situational humor of Keith Giffen. Alongside his partner J.M. DeMatteis -- who provided the dialogue to Giffen's adventures -- Giffen built Booster Gold from a competent solo hero to a team leader. Not surprisingly, fans in this group tend to be vocally supportive of Booster's partner in crime, Ted Kord.
And the third major group of Booster fans were brought in as disciples of Geoff Johns. Johns' dialogue is witty and his tendency towards melodrama is perfectly suited for writing adventure stories full of heroics and sacrifice. Johns' stories and characters are larger than life, and his heroes are legendary myths.

Sorry..no..I can't decide.

Dan Jurgens: Creator and always gets Booster's character right...sadly seems to be unable, or unwilling to actually finnish plot arcs in a reasonable amount of time.

Giffen: Created the greatest Bromance of all times, before Bromances even existed...yet turns the silly up to 11.

Johns: Introduced Booster to me and "saved" him from limbo and engineered his second comming..yet it feels like he often aiming "too high" and lands short.

Seconded. Hardest pole question yet. I need time to think before I vote on this one. Nice job.

Hear hear!
I can't choose just one for the reasons already listed.
Eyz posted on Apr. 5, 2012 at 12:22 PM
Awww, man! Don't make me make this choice!

Dan will always be my favorite...not only the creator of Booster, but a great story teller with amazing art skills. The master for "Time Masters" adventures.

Giffen & DeMatteis...well, I love all crazy stories by Giffen! I'm a big Ambush Bug and Heckler fan! And when he brought that sitcom/comedy dynamic to Booster and the rest of the JLI..let's just say that will always be my favorite run/title as far as superheroic team comic books go.

Johns? I love Johns' own characters and epic stories..but I'll take both previous options over the man..

(Can't we have some more diverse options like Dan+Giffen, all three, etc.? No? 'kay, just kidding!...)

Mmmh... I'll vote later this week!

It's Dan for me, in no small part because of the "for every story, ever" clause. I'm confident that Dan would never get bored with Booster and do something insane (as Geoff would) or jump the shark and damage the character while trying to make some larger point (as Keith would), so in spite of loving the three of them it's Dan's durability and commitment to Booster that decides it for me.
Curt posted on Apr. 8, 2012 at 9:12 PM
Hardest poll question, ever!! All three of them have their merits. I'm probably gonna go with Dan, if only for most of the reasons previously stated. But I have to acknowledge the fact that if it weren't for Giffen and Johns, Booster Gold may have been lost in limbo forever...
Harry posted on Apr. 9, 2012 at 11:30 AM
Reread a lot of BG back issues by all three. Johns was the one that entertained me most. That is how I voted. I would still want Dan to draw it though.
Grimmy posted on Apr. 11, 2012 at 12:37 PM
This is a tough one, I've been wondering the same thing for a while, and I'm still not sure who to choose. I agree with all of the above comments, all of those creators have their strengths and weaknesses.
I'm an old Bwahaha era fan but that was a team book (without Skeets), and I prefer Booster as a solo act (with Skeets). So,I guess I've got to support Johns for making Booster's adventures more popular than ever (even if he did sacrifice Ted Kord to do it). The inclusion of Rip Hunter as a regular supporting character was a major deciding factor.

Skeets as JLI administrator? Don't think of Skeets as the new L-Ron. Think of L-Ron as the old Skeets.
Last week's poll question: What role should Skeets be playing in the Justice League International? (37 votes)
All things being equal, Booster Gold fans were pretty fortunate in the post-Flashpoint reboot. Booster Gold is still the same character he was before. Other characters were not as lucky, sacrificing familiarity in the hopes of breathing new life into a tired concept.
Take, for example, Firestorm. Like Booster, Firestorm was a spotlight member of a top-selling, pre-reboot series in Brightest Day. But the powers-that-be at DC decided (probably justly, right, Shag?) that Firestorm didn't have what it took to generate and maintain a "modern" audience. So in the DCnU, Firestorm is now essentially two brand-new characters. Goodbye, character development; hello, artificial teen-aged angst and "fury."
Sure, that's frustrating to existing fans, but the point of comic book characters is to turn a profit. Characters must be popular to sell books, the more popular the better. Unpopular characters disappear, sometimes forever. Therefore, we Booster Gold fans should ask ourselves what risks we are willing to take to keep Booster Gold around.

I really liked the development of the character and where the last BG title was going before they turned it into BWA-HA-HA-HA-HAAAAA... maybe Flashpoint was a good thing?
Boosterrific [Official Comment] posted on Mar. 30, 2012 at 2:28 AM
Are you suggesting that because you didn't like the last year of BOOSTER GOLD comics, you're okay with seeing the entire history of the character erased and started over? Well, I don't like the taste of Wendy's new Famous Dave hamburger, so I sure wish Iran would hurry up and drop nuclear bombs on us. (I think that's what passes as a rational argument here on the internets.)
Xylob posted on Mar. 30, 2012 at 10:58 AM
no... I am suggesting that the time and effort spent on evolving Booster into something more than comic relief was apparently all a big fat waste. So far the "new" Booster is a pale shadow of what the character had become.
Boosterrific [Official Comment] posted on Mar. 30, 2012 at 2:46 PM
I share your disappointment in the loss of Booster's series, his story lines, and his supporting cast. The lack of payoff on some of those teased stories is frustrating. However, I do not feel that the series was a "waste." It was a joy to read, and I will always remember that. There isn't even any concrete evidence that DCnU Booster Gold has undergone anything more than cosmetic changes since his series was cancelled, so I haven't lost hope yet that Skeets, Rip, Rani, and Michelle are still policing time somewhere.
Grimmy posted on Mar. 30, 2012 at 8:11 PM
This is a tough one. The Booster in me wants to say "Fame at any price", but my Grimmy side says "Leave my hero alone".
I agree that we're pretty lucky that Booster hasn't been subjected to more than minor cosmetic changes. I just miss the behind the scene moments a self-titled book provides.

Also, have to say the last "Booster Gold" comic was definitely NOT a waste. Thanks to it Booster is more well known than ever before, a Smallville origin episode, numerous Brave and Bold appearances and an integral part of the DCU Online game. For a hero who never gets any respect, the powers-that-be at DC sure seem to think he has value.

Fingers crossed that DC never decides to kill Booster Gold (again). If they do, at least they should know what we expect: a happy ending.
Last week's poll question: What is the most plausible demise of Booster Gold? (41 votes)
Is it any coincidence that voters selected "sneak attack" as the least favorite option when it is the option that has "killed" Booster the most often in the comics? Hmm.
On a semi-related subject, I'm really beginning to worry about Skeets. Why can't we get the little guy on panel already? This is an oversight that must be corrected. I need Skeets in the DCnU!

I still think he's working offscreen to get Booster back to the DCoU.

ie DC's escape mechanism if the relaunch sales go south.
Eyz posted on Mar. 22, 2012 at 12:33 PM
Heck, we're barely getting any background characters-screentime as it is. Just heroes and villains, ducking it out, non-stop action....

Sigh....

I'll go with Grimmy option above, working on a way to get Booster and the whole DCU back on track.

Honestly, I expected the opinion pieces to be among the least favorite blog topics. Boy, was I wrong. (And who would have guessed that "25th-century erotica" would receive more votes than non-Booster comics news?) I guess I shouldn't be shy about giving you a piece of my mind.
Last week's poll question: What type of content would you most like to see more of on the Boosterrific.com blog? (38 votes)
Death. It happens to all of us sooner or later. In real life, it always marks "The End" of our personal stories. In comics, that's not necessarily the case.
Comic book characters suffer death much like real humans suffer the common cold. It's an inconvenience, but it will pass. This condition jades audiences, and the resulting difficulty to maintain suspension of disbelief then requires something unusual or spectacular to make an audience pay attention, as recent events in Justice League International #7 and DC Universe Online Legends #24 highlight.
Counting alternate realities, Booster Gold has now "died" at least four times, but as expected he keeps getting better. That makes you wonder: what would it really take to kill off Metropolis' greatest hero?

As dark as it seemed, for a character like Booster, I liked his time-altering-discease from the end of DeMatteis/Giffen run.
Booster traveled so much through time his body couldn't take it anymore...

Hey that's more fitting, for the man who started out by stealing devices from the future and going back to the past for fame and glory, than say an explosion or some random new event-crisis.
Grimmy posted on Mar. 19, 2012 at 1:58 PM
All of the above...

Nah, nothing can kill Booster!

As depressing as it is, I voted for a disease/plague. Since Booster Gold is larger than life, it seemed fitting from a storytelling perspective that he would go out with a whimper, rather than a bang. Again, depressing, but I can imagine a very moving sad end for such a colorful character.
