Not That There's Anything Wrong with That
Hey, DC, the mob has spoken: we want to see Booster Gold's supporting cast in the post-Flashpoint DCnU!
Last week's poll question: What should Booster Gold do during his September 2012 vacation? (47 votes)
Last month, DC made a lot of waves by teasing that one of their formerly heterosexual characters was switching teams. We now know that the character whose sexual preference was switched was Alan Scott, the original Green Lantern, but for awhile it was anybody's guess. Now that we know the character in question, it's fair to ask, "what if it had been Booster Gold?"
Does it matter to us hardcore Booster Gold fans what equipment our hero prefers in his sexual partners? Sure, Booster Gold had his share of one-night stands in his early days, but he hasn't been seen with a love interest on panel for years. It's no surprise that Booster has a sizable following among "shippers" who enjoy pairing him romantically with his best friend, Ted Kord. They'd be pretty happy to see Booster publicly admit his affinity for men, right?

Going Fishing?
I think that Skeets is only Booster Gold's sidekick because it wants to be. After all, being a major celebrity's plus-one has to be a pretty sweet deal. Skeets never has to wait for a good table at a restaurant, pay full price for a new car, or wear last year's fashions. Stay a sidekick as long as you can, Skeets!
Last week's poll question: If it were no longer needed as a sidekick, what career would Skeets take in the DCnU? (40 votes)
Since Booster won't be needed by the JLI in September, it looks like he has some spare time on his hands. Superheroes don't usually have "free time," so Booster probably finds himself in the unfamiliar situation of not knowing what to do with himself.

Life Goes On without Me?
If Booster Gold came to TV, we'd watch it. (Hint, hint, SyFy.)
Last week's poll question: If he were to retire from super heroics, which career would Booster Gold turn to in the DCnU? (45 votes)
So if that's what Booster would be doing, how about Skeets? What's a poor robot sidekick to do if the boss is out leading the Justice League or filming reality television shows? Skeets can't even get an appearance in the JLI, and that golden casing isn't paying to wax itself. What job is most befitting in the 21st-century DCnU for our favorite 25th-century tin can?

What Will He Be When He Grows Up?
There's nothing funny about the DCnU. Maybe that's part of our problem with it.
Last week's poll question: If the New 52 JLI were to be reborn, which model would you prefer it follow? (49 votes)
Earlier this month, thwp.net interviewed Dan Jurgens about his career and his interests. That led to the following exchange:
Q: If the Booster Gold character wasn't a superhero, what line of work do you think he'd be best suited for?A: He'd probably go back to being an athlete, most likely trying to catch on with a NFL team. Or... he'd be on some kind of reality show!
With the cancellation of Justice League International, it now looks like Booster could indeed be looking for a new job. That leads us to this week's poll question.

Rage Against the Dying of the Light
My vote was for anger. But then that's my secret, I'm always angry.
Last week's poll question: What is your strongest emotional response to news that JLI is being canceled? (54 votes)
So if you're all so hopeful for the future, what do you expect that future to look like? (I'm still expecting hovering skateboards and self-lacing shoes.)
