SpringCon!
I promoted last October's FallCon, so you bet I'm going to remind you about this weekends' SpringCon! SpringCon is twice the fun of FallCon: both Saturday and Sunday (two whole days!) from 10AM to 5PM at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. While Gail Simone and Denny O'Neil have announced that they will be unable to attend (these things happen), there's no need to worry: Dan Jurgens will still be there. With Jurgens present, what else do you need?

More details can be found at the Midwest Comic Book Association website.

The Only Thing I Remember
Just in time to welcome Dan Jurgens back to Booster Gold and remind you about his upcoming appearance at SpringCon (more on that tomorrow), I found this on withnailrules.tumblr.com:
For the record, I should state that I have never found Dan Jurgens to be an ass. He has always been friendly and even generous in his communications with Boosterrific.com. I am also aware that no one is on his best behavior all the time, and that applies to both creators and their fans.
This reminds me of a friend who was self-publishing his comic and tried to get John Byrne to comment on it. It had been a long day at a convention, and a tired Byrne had simply replied to my friend's request for a review with a snappish, "I don't read comics." Rather than be offended, my friend had that quote printed as a pull quote on the back of his comics. It's a prized jewel in my personal comic book collection.

Before and After: #44
The DC preview of tomorrow's Booster Gold #44 is online at The Source. Once again, I find it interesting to compare the solicitation cover art with the finished work. (I previously compared the solicitation and final art for the cover of issue #42.)

Both images were drawn by Dan Jurgens and inked by Norm Rapmund. The difference between the two images -- for good or ill depending on your personal aesthetic -- is the work the colorists at Hi-Fi Designs.

New Releases: Booster Gold & Generation Lost
Big week this week as Booster Gold #43 and Justice League: Generation Lost #23 are scheduled to hit stands today. This is the penultimate issue of Generation Lost. After the big reveal in last week's Brightest Day #23, what could be in store for the JLI as they head into "the most awesome fight in comic book history"?
But that's not all! Also due out today is the latest Booster Gold collection, Past Imperfect. This issue collects the first six issues by the creative team of Giffen/DeMatteis/Batista/Perotta. That's pretty good timing, seeing that today's Booster Gold #43 is the last issue created by the Giffen/DeMatteis/Batista/Perotta creative team. (Booster Gold-creator Dan Jurgens makes his return next issue!)
Buy all of them and make Skeets happy.

Panel Discussions Podcast with Dan Jurgens
Late yesterday afternoon Russel Burlingame's third Panel Discussions podcast was posted on ComicRelated.com. Burlingame and Dan Jurgens had so much to talk about, some of their conversation was left on the cutting room floor, including such questions and answers as:
Panel Discussions: Will we ever see the Black Beetle arc finished? Will we learn the identity of Rip's mom? Will you keep Rani?
Dan Jurgens: Yes to the first and third questions, while the second is more likely to stay a mystery!
And that's just the tip of the iceberg. In the podcast, Dan Jurgens discusses his plans for Booster Gold in coming months, as well as his plans for Black Beetle, Magog and his suggestions of how Booster Gold should have been handled in Justice League: Generation Lost. So follow the link above and get an earful of Dan Jurgens courtesy of Russ Burlingame.
