This Day in History: Blue and Gold No More
Remember the good old days when Booster Gold was leading his own team of international heroes? No, not the Nu52 Justice League International. I'm talking a team of real heroes. I'm talking about the Conglomerate.
Back in 1991, the original Justice League International was falling apart over Max Lord's apparent death (his first second of many; the man has more lives than Resurrection Man). Meanwhile the corporately-owned Conglomerate was a stable, productive organization, thanks in no small part to Booster Gold's sterling leadership.
With the JLI disbanded, Blue Beetle felt sure he could turn to his best bud and roommate Booster Gold for a hand up. Too bad for Beetle, the Conglomerate's corporate sponsors had some pretty high standards for admission.
Guess who got to break the bad news?
Poor Booster. Sometimes it's no fun to be the boss.

One Big Happy Family
So many votes! The potential return of Ted Kord must strike a nerve.
Last week's poll question: Now that Forever Evil teases Ted Kord in the DCnU, does this mean we will see Blue and Gold together again? (59 votes)
Seeing Booster Gold with the other cosplayers at DragonCon made me think about the few Justice League members that Booster has never worked with. I think all the Leaguers should get the chance to hang out with DC's premier hero, Booster Gold. Where should we start?

Together Again for the First Time
I might be the one guy in the world who hates Christopher Nolan's interpretation of Batman, so I figure Affleck can't really be any worse than Christian Bale. (How are we supposed to take Batman seriously when it looks like his mouth is being squeezed out of a toothpaste tube?)
Last week's poll question: Would you like to see Ben Affleck play Booster Gold? (45 votes)
I know it is probably just wishful thinking, but wouldn't it be nice to see Ted Kord alongside Booster Gold as the Blue Beetle again? Hey, in this "anything goes" New 52, it could happen, right?

New Release: Forever Evil
At ComicCon in July, Geoff Johns promised Booster Gold fans that Forever Evil would link to our hero in some way. Unfortunately, there is no sign or direct reference to Booster anywhere in the book.
I don't understand what Johns could have been referring to... unless it was this:

That's Lex Luthor having a politely threatening converation with one Thomas Kord. (Boy, that name seems familiar. Where have I heard that before?) Lex is threatening Thomas's family, including his son at Northwestern University. (Gee, I wonder who that could be?)
If you want more details, you'll have to pick up Forever Evil #1, now at your local comic shop!

If He Ever Shows Up, He Can Wear What He Wants
Over on Deviant Art, Chinese artist Fuge has imagined an updated Ted Kord's costume for the New 52.
I'm not nuts about the gold panels on Ted's costume, but if he has to wear something like that to run with the New 52 crowd, I can live with it. On the other hand, the "belt" on Booster's costume is an upgrade.
Check out more of Fuge's work at onlyfuge.deviantart.com.
