Farewell to Dick Girodano
Dick Giordano died this past Saturday at the age of 77. Although Giordano's direct impact on the published adventures of Booster Gold is comparatively small, his indirect influence on the character's legacy, and the comic book industry in general, is immeasurable. For whatever else he has done, and did more than any brief tribute could hope to mention during his nearly 50 years in the business, Giordano deserves credit for bringing Blue Beetle into the DC pantheon, paving the way for the enduring antics of Booster Gold and Blue Beetle. The Polls Are Open!
The polls I mentioned last week go live today! Hurray! New polls will roll out on Fridays alongside the results for the previous week's poll. The poll can be found just above the statistics on the homepage, and also on its own page of archived polls here. Now you have something to do besides read comic books all weekend! You can vote your otherwise insignificant opinion in an unscientific poll! And don't pretend like I'm the only one excited. Everyone loves polls. I promise a new one every week, at least until I run out of ideas. I'm perfectly willing to take suggestions, so if you have an idea, let me know between now and... ever.

Party with Booster Gold and Blue Beetle
Last week, Comics Alliance ran an article by Chris Sims about which comic book characters from DC and Marvel would be the most fun to party with. (Booster Gold and Blue Beetle score 3 out of 10 party hats.) While I thought that was news enough to post in and of itself, trying to rediscover that link to post here today accidentally led me to discover Boostle, a Live Journal blog devoted to all things Blue and Gold. A website devoted to Booster Gold? What a great idea!

One-Armed Arsenal
Today DC releases the first chapter of Justice League: The Rise of Arsenal, presumably detailing Roy Harper's return following the loss of his right arm in Justice League: Cry For Justice. The last Leaguer to lose an arm and replace it with a cybernetic prosthesis was, of course, Booster Gold. With Cyborg now also a Justice League member, perhaps in this mini-series the trio will form a support group to lament their lost limbs (though I doubt it). Justice League: The Rise of Arsenal, part 1 of 4, has a cover price of $3.99.
