No New Comics? Turn on the TV.
It seems like the first time in weeks that something Booster Gold related hasn't been released on New Comic Book Day. Of course, the new Batman Beyond series debuts today, but it is unlikely to contain any Booster Gold references. So what's a fan to do with no new comic books? Since Batman Beyond began as a television show, it seems natural to turn to television, of course.
Surely by now everyone has heard that Geoff Johns has a live action Blue Beetle in the works. Hearing reports that Geoff Johns tweeted the news would sound like an April Fool's joke if this weren't June. But here it is. If Jonah Hex can get a movie and Blue Beetle can get a pilot, could we be one step closer to a live action Booster Gold? Finally there's a good reason to buy an HDTV.
UPDATE: Screen caps of the Blue Beetle pilot are up at DC's The Source blog. The DC blog also has a bit of info on the new, black Aqualad created specifically for the planned Young Justice cartoon. TV is the place to be for DC! (I apologize for the previous sentence. I don't know what I was thinking.)

Gold Exchange 33
Russ Burlingame's latest interview with J.M. DeMatteis is online at Newsarama.com. Now I really, really have to know who Brigadoom is standing-in for. Another giant, perhaps? My money is on Brimstone.
And check out the picture of young Daniel Burlingame's new duds as he poses for the paparazzi. That kid's got style! Congratulations and early Happy Father's Day, Mr. Burlingame.

Weekend Update: More Skeets, More Bugs
Over the weekend, Skeets was given his own page here at Boosterrific.com. I figured that now that he seems to be an active member of the Justice League International (more useful than L-Ron ever was, anyway), the little guy has earned it.
Also, some recent changes to the server settings may have had a detrimental effect on the cookie retention for news and reviews comment forms. If anyone has noticed that you have to re-enter your name when leaving a comment somewhere here on the site when once upon a time the site remembered who you were, please email webmaster at boosterrific dot com and let me know what browser you are using. Thanks (and, if applicable, sorry).

We Hold These Truths
On this day in 1776, the Second Continental Congress appointed the Committee of Five to draft what would become the Declaration of Independence. This is the date of the marriage of British King Henry VIII to Catherine of Aragon; the annulment of the marriage would lead to the English Reformation. This is also the date that Eratosthenes credits as the day of the fall of Troy. Seems like a pretty busy day for a time-traveling policeman.

Superman Celebration

Today kicks off the 32nd Annual Superman Celebration in Metropolis, Illinois. The event will run throughout the weekend and will feature such guests as Noel Neill (TV's second Lois Lane) and artist Carmine Infantino. Official site information can be found here.
The above image comes from Action Comics #594 (1987), wherein Metropolis celebrates the first post-Crisis on Infinite Earths Superman Day, including the unveiling of a Superman statue with arms akimbo. The "real world" Superman Celebration began in 1978, and the modern statue in the town square was installed in 1993. As of yet, no android duplicate of a rival hero has crashed the annual Illinois event hoping to destroy Superman with a chunk of Kryptonite. As of yet.
