The latest DC All Access promotional video on YoutTube includes an interview with Justice League Action producer Jim Krieg. At about the 4:50 mark, Krieg says:

Every show you're hoping for a Fonzie, and we have, like, five Fonzies. Every time we'll bring a new actor into the booth, we'll hear P.J. Byrne's Firestorm [and] go "him, he's our breakout character." And then Dana Snyder will come in and do Plastic Man and [we'll] go "Plastic Man, definitely our break out character." And then when we have Diedrich Bader as Booster Gold and he also is a break out character. So it's all Fonzies. It's all Fonzies all the time.

That's some great praise, assuming you've ever heard of Fonzie. Krieg does know his show is aimed at children, right?

For you kids out there, Happy Days was a television show that your parents watched between 1974 and 1984. Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli was intended to be a minor character but soon became the focus of the show. Think Urkel in Family Matters.

Wait a second. Family Matters has been off the air since 1998. That's almost twenty years! Damn.

Sorry, kids. You're on your own.

It's been 544 days since Booster Gold's last significant appearance in a DC comic book. That's 1 year, 5 months, 3 weeks, and 3 days — and counting!

With Booster Gold all but blacklisted from the DCnU, it's comforting to think back to a time when our hero was often seen actively protecting the innocent people of the DC Universe.

Take, for example, this scene from Captain Atom #16, released on this date in 1988:

Fear not, Booster boosters. Whether you see him or not, Booster Gold will never rest so long as there are still trees to smash. I feel better already!

Amy Jurgens, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, and the creator of Booster Gold

It's Booster Gold creator Dan Jurgens! While the article about the experience on Vikings.com does include an image of Booster Gold (from he cover of Booster Gold Vol. 2, #21), the writer doesn't seem aware of exactly how significant a role Jurgens has played in the history of DC Comics. Quote:

Jurgens is now currently working on two titles — one Batman and one Superman, whom he says he's had a longstanding affiliation with.

When talking about the career of the man who killed Superman then saved him from oblivion after the New 52 reboot, created Cyborg Superman, and co-created Doomsday, "longstanding affiliation" feels like a bit of an understatement. (And don't even get me started on how important his work on Booster Gold has been!)

Congratulations, Dan and Amy. Go Vikings!

If you thought that a mini Thomas the Tank Engine toy was the strangest Booster Gold-related thing we'd see in 2017, you might be right. That's pretty strange.

But yesterday, Booster booster The Blot announced on his blog that he's found something else plenty unusual: a 1.5-inch Booster Gold-themed Dunny keychain.

I can hear some of you asking "What is a Dunny?" (I asked it myself.) To quote from the manufacturer's website, KidRobot.com:

A DUNNY is a type of vinyl designer art toy created by Paul Budnitz and Tristan Eaton, and produced by Kidrobot since 2004. The toy is based on a rabbit figure with distinctive tubular ears. The origin of the name Dunny came from a combination of street slang and one of the early "Devil Bunny" prototypes.

I have no idea how that concept ties in with the DC Universe, but I think the same thing about that Thomas & Friends toy. All I need to know is where I can buy them (which, frankly, probably answers my question). Lucky for us, the Blot has a lead on that information at TheBlotSays.com.

Those of you who follow Boosterrific on Facebook have already seen this, but for those of you who don't, Brian Miller of Hi-Fi Designs posted this yesterday:

To recap: First Dan Jurgens tells us that he's drawing "BG". Then Norm Rapmund says he's inking someone with a star on his chest who isn't Captain America. And now Hi-Fi designs removes any lingering doubt. This is definitely a Booster Gold cover.

Jurgens, Rapmund, and Hi Fi were the art team for most of the late, lamented Booster Gold Volume 2. Isn't it nice to have the band back together?
