Ever hear of Mighty Muggs, the vinyl in-action figure from Hasbro? I hadn't, but that didn't surprise me when I learned that while there had been Marvel figures, there had never been DC figures. Turns out someone is taking steps to rectify that situation.

This customized Booster Gold Mighty Mugg was created by Sid the Kid and is for sale on eBay. (The sale will end shortly after I post this, so if you're interested, act fast.) Looks like Booster's been doing some squats!

Two weeks ago in response to a question about comic book pricing asked by a fan on Formspring, Tom Brevoort said:

I think DC lowering their prices was a nice gambit, but what's become very clear is that people pay for the stuff they want. So they got virtually no uptick on their sales, but cut a quarter of their profit margin away. But as a general rule, if people want to read Booster Gold, then they'll read Booster Gold at whatever the price is (assuming it's worth it to them), but the average reader isn't going to stop reading X-Factor and start reading Booster Gold simply because of the price difference. They might stop reading X-Factor if they find that it's not worth the money to them, but that doesn't mean they'll suddenly become interested in Booster Gold.

Brevoort, Marvel Comics Executive Editor and Senior Vice President of Publishing, should know what he's talking about: Marvel comics have been outselling DC comics for years. My only question is why he's picking on Booster Gold. Could Brevoort be a Booster Gold fan?

And don't tell DC, but if they'd keep publishing it, I'd probably keep buying Booster Gold if it cost me $5 an issue. I just wouldn't be buying much else, especially X-Factor.

DC released art from Justice League International Volume 3 at Comic-Con this past weekend. This includes new pics of Booster Gold in his new costume by Aaron Lopresti and Matt Ryan. (The un-cropped version here also shows Batman's new bat-shaped knee pads. Boy, can that guy accessorize.) Drink it in, people. This is the future:

As has been much discussed in the Boosterrific Forum, note that Booster is not wearing a ring. Is this an intentional omission? An accident? A conspiracy? What do you think?

Geeks of Doom tells us that DC finally announced the poorly-kept secret that Flashpoint #5 would be the official launch point for the DCnU. Time gets changed, and the new DC Universe spins out of it. Spoiler alert: Booster Gold fails at his job of protecting DC's existing continuity.

Major Spoilers reports that Booster Gold will be the official leader of the Justice League International, and that Batman will be an unofficial, secret team member. This would appear to make Batman the greatest hero that the United Nations has never heard of.

Bleeding Cool adds that Flashpoint Global Guardians' character Lady Godiva will be among the members of the Justice League International. However, blond Lady Godiva does not look like the woman on the cover of Justice League International #1. How many heroes will be on this team?

iFanboy tells us that the question of whether Booster Gold will know that he failed to save the time stream will be addressed in Booster Gold #47. If new Flashpoint characters are on his JLI team, I suspect he'll have a clue.

And according to Comic Book Resources, 'Jurgens said he enjoyed "doing Doomsday in a different way, and ending Doomsday in a different way."' I guess that means that this time Superman doesn't die.

EDIT 07/26/2011: After posting this, I realized that Lady Godiva is probably the same Godiva that was once a member of the Global Guardians. Oops. Sorry to doubt you, Booster. Maybe you do get the job done.

The 2011 Comic-Con International is now in full swing. This afternoon's DC "Justice League" panel -- including Dan Jurgens -- is only one example of DC's many scheduled panels. Boosterrific.com wishes all the attendees the best of times.

If this duo from last year's Comic-Con is any indication, a good time will be had by all. Except, maybe, for any Martians whose favorite cookies have suddenly gone missing.
