A Triumph of Design
DC has now released covers for October solicitations, among them Justice League International #2. This gives us a newer look at at Booster Gold's new costume. Triangular golden breastplate? Arrow gauntlets? Pants-less unitard? Why do I feel like I've seen this somewhere before?
Ah, Triumph. Unloved bastard child of 1990s angst and design awkwardly coupled with DC's Silver Age mythology. Triumph was an energy-wielding, time-displaced hero-turned-crybaby who left the Justice League after too many bad decisions. That doesn't sound familiar.
Surely it's just a coincidence that Jim Lee's new unitard design for Booster Gold is strongly evocative of Triumph's costume. Isn't it?

New Releases: The Ultimate Character Guide
At my local comic shop yesterday, I saw that DC had teamed with DK Publishing to release a new encyclopedia, DC Comics: The Ultimate Character Guide. Like previous printings of DK's DC Comics Encyclopedia, this book contains an entry for Booster Gold.
As you can see, the character designs on the cover (as well as the interior pages you can't see) are the up-to-date pre-reboot designs, including Wonder Woman's pants-suit. You have to feel a little sorry for DK: preparing a book like this takes a lot of lead time, and DC announced their sweeping design changes just weeks before publication. If DC is serious about keeping the new costumes, this $16.99 tome is already archaic.

New Releases: Booster Gold #46
Believe it or not, it's been five weeks since the last time there has been a "New Releases" post here at Boosterrific.com. The drought finally ends this week as Booster Gold #46 finally hits the stands. Not only does this week see the release of the penultimate issue of the series, it will also mark the release of the second printing of Booster Gold #45. That's two Booster Gold comics in one day! Buy at least one of them and make Skeets happy.

He Meant to Do That
Matt Brownell has posted a list of "8 Career Mistakes of Superheroes" at Mainstreet.com. Booster Gold makes the list for selecting Dirk Davis as his manager. Sure, Davis turned out to be a sympathetic agent of a race of evil alien robots, but Booster should have known he was no good when his earlier clients were professional wrestlers. Wrestling managers specialize in betraying their clients, usually with folding chairs.
Booster is in good company on the list. Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Superman are among the others making mistakes. Isn't it just like Micheal Jon Carter to emulate his heroes, the A-list super heroes?

Big Screen Booster Gold
Adding to the total number of movies including Booster Gold (total: 2), over the weekend I pleasantly discovered that Booster Gold is briefly seen in the 2010 movie Cop Out thanks to his JLI teammate Black Carnary.
Early in the movie during the investigation of a crime scene within a hobby shop, Adam Brody shows the camera a Justice League International Series 1 Black Canary figure. Prominent on the packaging is the Justice League International line-up, including Booster Gold.
Booster Gold: conquering Hollywood one movie at a time.
