Unless you only get your Smallville news from the blog here, you've probably seen the Booster Gold/Blue Beetle Smallville screenshot that exploded all over the web (including here in the blog comments and in the forum -- twice!) yesterday. Based on the fact that the image is now on every comic website, it seems that people are generally pretty excited about this. Too bad that doesn't translate into comic sales.
Other than the glasses, it looks pretty good, yes? Very 52, as expected. (I will politely refrain from commenting on Mobile Suite Beetle there in the background.) Booster portrayer Eric Martsolf and Geoff John shave plenty to say about their Smallville version of Booster Gold over at TVguide.com. You can read the full article -- sorry, no more pictures -- here.
UPDATE 03/30/2011: Mike Furlong has added a link to more pictures in the comments below. Thinks Mike.

I guess Booster's ok.
Yesterday, I didn't like it at first glance..but it could have been worse.
Jaime on the other hand...

honestly, I am just glad its not a hoodie and sunglasses. The IS Smallville we are talking about. (notice, they can't even afford to give Jamie gloves...)

No big collar? bummer. Honestly I thought Booster would have looked a whole lot worse but that's not too bad. Can't really get a good look at the logos, hope they use ones like Soder Cola and Flakies. Jaime... <sigh> He looks like a cross between the Guyver and Ultraman (the campy Japanese t.v. show not the Crime Syndicate Superman) Fingers are crossed that this is decent.

I think he looks really good for a live action version of the character. theres more pix of the costume here http://www.dailyblam.com/news/2011/03/29/new-images-of-eric-martsolf-as-booster-gold-in-smallville

I really like Booster's outfit. It's faithful and works on Live Action, Blue Beetle.... I'll just keep my mouth shut in this one
Although I'm not really sure about his story. I wanted hero-Booster!

I like the way they did Boosters costume! Clark better put on the superman costume for the finale or I’ll be angry! I can’t wait until the finale. But for now I’ll continue to enjoy Smallville in wonderful HD while it’s still on TV. I don’t know your personal preference, but I need my Smallville in HD. Just to let you know, DISH Network has plenty of affordable packages with HD right now and you can find information on how to get free HD on DISH Network’s official website. Don’t you want to see Smallville in HD?

Soaps.com reports that Smallville has cast its Booster Gold:
His name is Eric Martsolf. According to IMDB, he has been acting professionally on screen for a decade, mainly on in soap operas. This means that I am completely unfamiliar with his work. If you need to read up on him, as I did, there is more info available on his Official Website, ericmartsolf.com.
He'll need a good bleaching to get Booster's golden hair. Otherwise, we'll see how he holds up as the Corporate Crusader come April. Good luck, Eric. We'll be watching.

VERY NICE! So glad they actually got someone that looks like a football player...and didn't go for the thin goofy guy. Eric looks like he can play a smug yet serious booster gold

@Kevin
I think they're going with the original Booster...The not-so-serious one

His photo on his website's home page looks like a great representation of Rip Hunter.

When was Booster ever really serious? ;P
Now, all I want to know is if they're going for the cheap route (Martian Manhunter, Flash, Cyborg, Bizarro..) or the faithful one (Hawkman, Zatanna Dr. Fate..)
The same goes for the 2 announced Blue Beetles
