Cover Description: The Tangent Universe Green Lantern poses. (No Booster Gold.)
Brief Synopsis: Booster Gold is responsible for the birth of the Green Lantern.
Booster Gold's role in this story:
None (Booster Gold does not appear in this story)
Issue Notes: Booster Gold does not appear in this issue, though an alternate Earth counterpart does.
Story Notes: Booster Gold appears in "Brightest Night," written by Dan Abnett & Andy Lanning, illustrated by Mike Mayhew & Wade Von Grawbadger, colored by Lee Loughridge, lettered by Comic Craft, and edited by Eddie Berganz.
Booster Gold appears as a rich treasure hunter of questionable ethics. As noted by Roy Gibson, "due to the nature of the story, one can assume this is even a non-canon Tangent Universe story (and thus explain Booster's somewhat different appearance in Tangent: Superman's Reign)."
The concept of the Tangent Universe was created in the late 1990s by none other than Dan Jurgens, creator of Booster Gold. Even though Jurgens did not write this specific story, it was inevitable that some variation of one of Jurgens' most favored creations would be involved in this parallel world.
