Though these characters and events are similar to their comic book counterparts in the Legion of Super-Heroes, there are varied and noticeable differences.

EXTRA, EXTRA: Despite taking place in an alternate continuity, the headlines seen on the monitor behind Braniac 5 are identical to some that have appeared in the career of Booster Gold. "Booster Gold Stops Presidential Assassination Plot" is a direct homage to the origin story of the one, true Booster Gold of the DC Universe as detailed in Booster Gold, Vol. 1, issues #8 and #9. Other headlines are references to stories seen in the pages of 52 and Booster Gold, Vol. 2.
