ISSUE DETAILS

Cover Description: Close-up of the face of Brother Blood with the reflection of Raven in his red eyes. (No Booster Gold.)

Brief Synopsis: Brother Blood and his Brotherhood of Evil defeat the Titans with relative ease, causing a worried Magenta to call in help.

Booster Gold's role in this story:
Cameo (Booster Gold makes a minor appearance)

Costume Worn: MARK I power-suit

Issue Notes: This is Booster's second meeting with Superman, and the first time that he has worked as a member of a collection of super-heroes in a team setting. He clearly doesn't lack for confidence while working with others. (He is likely wearing his cape, which he admittedly only wears for its apparent grandeur, in an attempt to impress the more established heroes.)

This story has been reprinted in:
New Teen Titans Volume 12 (2020)
Tales of the Teen Titans (1988)

ANNOTATIONS

Page 12, panel 1
Booster Gold takes to the sky with Batman, Doctor Midnight, John Stewart, Katma Tui, Magenta, Skyman, and Superman with a characteristic self-promoting boast.

Image Copyright DC Comics

Page 13, panel 3
Taking charge of the situation, Superman teams Booster with Doctor Midnight to protect the White House and Washington, D.C. from devotees of Brother Blood's Church of Blood. This is a logical action because of Booster's previous association with the President (Booster Gold, Vol. 1, #9). Booster is not seen again throughout the issue and never comes in contact with any of the Teen Titans themselves.

REVIEWS

Boosterrific Review: As pretty and well-told as events are in this issue, they fail to propel the overall story meaningfully forward, and worse, seem to ignore its own internal conflicts. The heroes called to action in the previous issue are promptly ignored as they are "forced" to deal with off-panel problems, and the Titans are in and out of action constantly, sapping the drama that Marv Wolfman is struggling to build.
