Look, a CD! DC 75: The Music of DC Comics
I just picked up The Music of DC Comics: 75th Anniversary Collection cd. I open the case for the first time to put the cd in my computer's cup holder, and lo and behold, who do I find looking up at me from the back tray card under the cd but the Corporate Crusader and all of his DC pals.
DC's 75th anniversary, indeed! Jemm, Son of Saturn, meet Catman! I bought the cd for the music, but I'm in love with it for the interior art.
What's not to like about any cd that comes with its own comic artist credits? Pencils: Adam Dekracker, Brett Breeding, Ryan Sook, Jon Bogdanove, Ian Churchill, Craig Hamilton, Jonboy Meyers, Matthe Clark, Tom Derrinick, Mike McKone, Admira Wijayai. Inks: Brett Breeding, Ryan Sook, Joe Rubenstein. Colors: Raul Trevino, Dave McCaig, Ryan Kinnard, Richard Horie.
Hard core DC junkies may recognize this image as very similar to one that circulated a few months ago as a promotional image for Warner Brothers Consumer Products. There have been a few changes from that image, including but not limited to Booster Gold moving to a more prominent position behind Batman (location, location, location!) and Aquaman being re-drawn. For more details on the original, head over to the archive at onceuponageek.com.

Dress for Success
Late last week, Shag from Once Upon A Geek called this to my attention:
After 2 decades, DC has finally licensed a Booster Gold symbol t-shirt! (Deadman is getting one, too. And he's been around since 1967. That's patience! Of course, he's dead, so it was easy for him to wait for the opportunity.)
This sucker is in the September Previews. It won't be available for several weeks, but fear not! You can order it from your favorite LCS. Or, if you're the procrastinating sort, you will one day be able to order it directly from Graphitti's website here.

1, 2, 3, 4, Can I Add a Little More?
1. While everyone else was paying attention to some convention in southern California, Boosterrific.com added a timeline of Booster's adventures here. (I'm not ignoring the Booster Gold news out of Comic-Con; I'll get to that tomorrow. I promise.)
2. I'd like to offer a big blog thanks to Shag of onceuponageek.com, for graciously allowing me to use his images of the DC promotional button for Dan Jurgens' Justice League. I didn't even know it existed before I found it on his blog. That, ladies and gentlemen, is what the internet is for: learning cool stuff from someone who knows more than you do.
3. The script error that caused no poll to show most of Friday has been corrected. That shouldn't happen again. (I blame it on programmer error. And I wrote the damn thing.)
4. I've decided that they are releasing way too many Booster Gold comics -- blasphemy! I just can't get them into the database fast enough! For the next few months, while Booster Gold, JL:GL, and TM:VP are coming out, I may at times be a little slow in getting the issues up on the site. Please have patience; a guy's gotta earn a living.
