ANNOTATIONS

Page 26, panel 5
Booster and Beetle are shown defeating Despero, one of the Justice League of America's most powerful foes. This event has never been chronicled. The Justice League International never fought Despero while Booster was a member: the two chronicled encounters with Despero during the JLI era (told in Justice League America #38 and Justice League America #58 took place while Booster was leader of the Conglomerate.

Page 27, panel 4
At the time when Blue Beetle had gained too much weight, the JLI was headquartered in New York City and Booster Gold was still the field leader of the Conglomerate. The "Watchtower" was built on the moon when the "Magnificent Seven" Justice League formed in JLA #1 some years later. Also inaccurate in this flashback is Fire's costume; by this time Fire had long since abandoned her original Green Flame outfit.

Page 28, panel 3
The particular cast of characters seen here was never an active roster of the Justice League International (Dr. Light was not a member of the team until years later when Batman, Black Canary, Captain Marvel, Dr. Fate, and Mister Miracle had all left the team), so they could not have welcomed Beetle back to fitness with Booster Gold. This is the last appearance of Booster Gold in this issue.

Page 29, panel 3
In Countdown to Infinite Crisis #1, Blue Beetle invaded Checkmate's castle headquarters in Switzerland, not a Chicago office building. This fact has been referenced recently in the maxi-series Justice League: Generation Lost, so it is unclear why the location was changed in this issue.

REVIEWS

Boosterrific Review: The cliches continue in this final issue of the latest revision to the official DC history. I've been especially disappointed in this series largely because it has been so mediocre. Rather than revealing something new about the great history of DC Comics, it merely repeats events as through from memory without any apparent fact checking and without providing any new insight or added depth. Even the frame-story was derivative of past works (notably Kurt Busiek's groundbreaking Marvels). This series has been the worst kind of child's primer, lacking anything to reward longtime readers and failing to inspire a newcomer to read more by turning the grand tapestry of the DC Universe into a boring history textbook.
