Shameless Self-Promotion 2015

In the grand tradition of Booster Gold, I am using this platform to promote my latest business venture: SnarfQuest Tales the video game on Kickstarter.com.

Some of you older Dungeons and Dragons and comic fans may recognize Larry Elmore's high-fantasy SnarfQuest comic strip as a long-running feature in Dragon Magazine. My friends and I at Cellbloc Studios are, with Larry's support, turning the comic into a point-and-click video game.

If that sounds like something you'd enjoy, please consider supporting our Kickstarter project. And even if your interests lie elsewhere, consider supporting our Kickstarter as a way of indirectly supporting Boosterrific.com. (Somebody's got to pay the bills around here.)

Click here to visit SnarfQuest Tales on Kickstater.com.

Thank you for your support!

What Will Future Issues of TV Guide Say?

These polls don't often surprise me, but I wasn't prepared for the response that most of you are more invested in Booster Gold naming Doomsday than you were in KooeyKooeyKooey.

Last week's poll question: Which piece of Booster Gold's history are you least bothered to see omitted from the New 52 reboot? (40 votes)

Which piece of Booster Gold's history are you least bothered to see omitted from the New 52 reboot?

I suspect that I underestimate the power "Death of Superman" had in invigorating the comics-buying public and the influence that the story still holds for DC Comics readers. I don't know why that should be. I personally still wear a "Reign of the Supermen" era Superboy black leather jacket with an "S"-shield on the back and a Superman #75-style mourning armband.

But enough about me. Let's talk about what I want to watch on television. Namely, a show starring my favorite hero!

In Absence of News, We'll Take Implication

According to Catrina Dennis, DC Universe Online's Creative Director, Jens Andersen, has hinted that there may be new Booster Gold-themed DLC coming to the MMO video game in future months.

While discussing what television-related projects gamers might see, Andersen said:

"Well, 'Legends of Tomorrow' has Rip Hunter in it... so you never know when Booster Gold might show up."

So... maybe Booster Gold, maybe not.

You can read the whole article about the current, Booster Gold-less "The Bombshell Paradox" DLC for DC Universe Online as well as the aforementioned tease for upcoming DLC releases at MoviePilot.com.

And if you still haven't played the game itself, you can sign up to play for free at www.dcuniverseonline.com.

This Day in History: A Bitter Pill

Believe or not, Ted Kord has been "dead" for a full decade. Ten years ago today, the Ted's former Justice League International teammates were still searching for his killer in the pages of The OMAC Project #4.

© DC Comics

In the decade since, Wonder Woman killed Ted's assassin, Maxwell Lord, who managed to rise from the grave following Blackest Night to ruin Booster Gold's life (again!) in Justice League: Generation Lost. Because as we all know, in comics death is only temporary. Unless your name is Ted Kord.

On a side note: I wonder if Kord isn't more famous to comic readers today as "the dead Blue Beetle." Certainly, the readers that Geoff Johns brought to Booster Gold during his run — seven years ago! — likely only think of Ted in the past tense.

Sooner or later, those of us who think of Ted as Booster's best friend might need to learn to make peace with the past. A decade is a long time to mourn.
