Going Out in Style
Let's get this week started the right way: with cosplay!
Blue and Gold forever! ComicsAlliance.com found not one but two sets of Blue and Gold cosplayers last week at Charlotte's Heroes Con 2014. You can find larger image in their gallery here.
And while we're on the subject, I hope you didn't miss this unique cosplay that Osyrus posted in the Boosterrific Forum last week. It's a great costume that deserves some recognition.
Great job everybody.

Happy Birthday, Dan Jurgens!
He brought you Agent Liberty, Risk, Waverider, Doomsday, and Cyborg Superman. But most importantly, he's the creator of Skeets and someone called Booster Gold. Who else could it be but Dan Jurgens?
Jurgens celebrates his 55th birthday today, and he'll no doubt be celebrating by slaving away at the drawing board for future issues of Futures End or maybe pages of September's Booster Gold one-shot. But you can celebrate by bidding on some of Jurgens' old work, specifically this poster from his run on Justice League:
That rare poster from 1992, drawn by Dan Jurgens and inked by Rick Burnett, is currently listed for sale on eBay.com. The auction ends Tuesday, so act fast. You don't want to have to wait another few decades before you get another shot at it.
Thanks for all the hard work over the years, Dan! Here's to 55 more.

Has the Future Already Ended?
Does no one play Heroclix anymore?
Last week's poll question: Which types of games have you played that included Booster Gold? (36 votes)
Two months of weekly Futures End comics, and yet no sign of Booster Gold since the first free issue. We might not see our hero again until his own tie-in issue ships in September. Are any of you still holding out hope and buying this series?

Not a Joke
Smallville: Chaos #3 came out last week, in which we find that Lex Luthor doesn't think any more highly of Booster Gold than Lois Lane did.
Smallville: Chaos #1. Writer: Bryan Q. Miller, Art: Daniel HDR, Colors: Carrie Strachan
Poor Ted Kord and Micheal Holt. Why is everybody so down on them for hiring the World's Greatest Hero?
This issue is available online at Comixology.com now for 99¢. The printed edition collecting the first 3 digital installments as Smallville Season 11: Chaos #1 should be coming to your Local Comic Shop on August 13, 2014 with a cover price of $3.99. (If you delay buying this until the collected edition comes out, you'll pay an extra dollar! So what are you waiting for?)
Each of the 3 digital installment of Smallville: Chaos to date has referenced or included Booster Gold. With 9 more chapters to go, can writer Bryan Q. Miller keep up this pace? We sure hope so.

Booster All Day Every Day
Mogo is a living planet that first appeared in the Alan Moore story "Mogo Doesn't Socialize" in 1985, and in the years since has gone on to become one of the most powerful members of the Green Lantern Corps. That makes it all the more impressive to discover that Mogo is less powerful than Booster Gold.
At least in the video game Infinite Crisis.
Fragment of Mogo vs Booster Gold
These 2 items have become virtually the same item.
...
I have the impression that at this point Booster Gold is clearly a better pick.
That observation comes from poster Rikishin at the Infinite Crisis Forum, where it was generally agreed that Booster is better than Mogo. (You can find out yourself: Infinite Crisis is in open beta development at InfiniteCrisis.com.)
Both Booster and Mogo debuted in 1985, and both are virtually unknown among people who don't read DC Comics publications. As great as it is that Booster Gold comes out on top, it's just nice to see that someone is still talking about them all these years later in the Internet age.
