What We Learned from NYCC 2015

Not a lot of Booster Gold news out of New York Comic Con this year. Is there really a Booster Gold movie in the works? Warner Brothers still isn't talking.

But while Warner remains silent, late-night comedian and writer Seth Meyers wasn't so shy. He held a panel at NYCC which Brett White covered for Spinoff Online.

"When I read comics, I loved teams. I loved X-Men and Justice League for that reason. Superman on his own is less interesting than Superman with Batman." [Moderator Jesse David] Fox then asked Meyers about his favorite X-Men and Justice League teams; Meyers called out the Blue Beetle/Booster Gold "Justice League" run and Joss Whedon's "Astonishing X-Men."

With fans like Nathan Fillion and Seth Meyers, how can we not get a Booster Gold movie in the works? (Thanks, Seth. We think that your show is pretty good, too.)

Booster Gold, the Minion

"In addition, the network has released a brief video of Erica Durance (Lois Lane) answering viewer questions about the season, which sees the return of familiar faces like Arthur Curry (Alan Ritchson), Kara (Laura Vandervoort), Pa Kent (John Schneider) and Hawkman (Michael Shanks), and the introduction of such characters as Darkseid and his minions, Hawkgirl, Deadshot, Booster Gold and Blue Beetle."

Wait, Blue & Gold will be minions of Darkseid? I sure hope that's just bad grammar.

hey if Blue and Gold are going to be in Smallville, maybe that is foreshadowing of a Justice League spin-off for when Smallville ends? I certainly hope so.

I think I remember hearing something about a blue beetle (Jaime Reyes) show in the works or at least a pilot. A booster gold show or animated series would be totally awesome but probably be too hard to do, I think they'd have to do a season or two of back story before jumping into his path to becoming a time master. It's unlikely but I can dream can't I?

@tiggerpete: the internet is abuzz with potential replacements for Smallville. The CW is open minded, and DC really wants to expand their media properties. We'll see what we see.

Booster Gold, minion and possible sidekick of the Blue Beetle. Not bad for someone who used to be a third-stringer. The placement sure would hurt his ego, though.

There was an interview with Geoff Johns on Newsarama, I think. (Or one of the comic news sites.) Anyway, it seemed to be Jaime that was going to be showing up on Smallville, but he teased that Ted Kord *might* show up.
I'm really bummed about the poassibility of the Jaime Reyes Blue Beetle show being picked up, because now a whole generation of fans will only know him as the Blue Beetle, and not Ted.

I guess they meant "(..)Darkseid and his minions AND Hawkgirl, Deadshot, Booster Gold and Blue Beetle too"
I hope they do them some justice..but by Smallville standards..it can be either good (Zatanna, Hawkman) or very bad (J'onn, Cyborg)
