All That and Several Bags of Chips

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: the best comics DC is printing these days are Wonder Comics. If you aren't reading them, you don't know what you're missing. Like this panel from this week's Young Justice #8.

"Buster Gold" chips? Yum!

As all Booster boosters know, "Buster Gold" is the derisive nickname most often used by those misguided fools who remain unimpressed by our hero's exploits. That totally fits this story.

Young Justice #8, written by Brian Michael Bendis, takes place on Earth-3, home of the infamous Crime Syndicate. On Earth-3, most familiar heroes are villains, which means that whatever those Buster Gold snacks are made of, they're probably horrible for your health.

Time for a Healthy Breakfast

Those of you who attentively watched the DC Nation block on Cartoon Network this past weekend hopefully caught the Booster Gold reference in the Thunder and Lightning short. For those that blinked and missed it, here it is again:

DC Nation Thunder and Lightning

Now we just need DC to get this into our grocery stores. Hopefully Sugar Bear won't find cause for litigation over the similarity with his longstanding Post Golden Crisps cereal.

Kids, Buy Booster Flakes!

While enjoying the holiday, Morgenstern noted that while Booster Gold didn't make the roster of Fisher Price's DC Super Friends line of toys, he did make it into their cartoon. At least their cartoon billboards.

This 2010 cartoon, "The Joker's Plahouse," re-imagining the classic 1970s Super Friends was released with the Fisher-Price® Imaginext™ DC SUPER FRIENDS™ toy line. Despite being a toy giveaway, the quality is surprisingly high.

Fortunately for those of us who aren't buying toys for 3-year-olds, Fisher Price has uploaded the cartoon to their YouTube account. You can watch the whole cartoon here. To see Booster, you can jump to 4:15 of the above linked video. However, but those of you who are a bit more nostalgic -- or big fans of Ted Knight impersonators -- may want to watch it all from the beginning. It's mmmm... good.
