Briefly Missing in Action

I was sitting at my computer on Friday minding my own business when I got this email from Jake:

I'm praying I didn't miss this on the site, or I'd be awful embarrassed, but Booster appears in the Justice League Action animated shorts "Lasso of Lies", "Selfie Help!", and "Special Delivery"... (these episodes of Justice League Action were shared only as internet webisodes).

No need to be embarrassed, Jake. You're right, those 2017 Justice League Action shorts have not appeared on the site before... because I didn't know they existed! (Or did I? I have a hunch I'm not the only person on this planet who thinks 2017 feels like several lifetimes ago.)

Anyway, now that I know I know better, follow any of these links to watch these 2-minute cartoons on YouTube.

For future reference, the Boosterrific! Other Media: Television page has also been updated with brief descriptions of each webisode.

And while I'm on the topic of the Boosterrific! Other Media page, I should mention that over the weekend, Booster booster Doug sent me a different email pointing out that it was missing the recent McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse Blue Beetle and Booster Gold 2-pack. Oops. I can't pretend that I didn't know about that. The oversight has now been corrected.

My thanks to both Jake and Doug for helping to ensure that Boosterrific is the best site it can be.

Wake Up to Action Next Week

Grab those rabbit ears, Booster boosters! It looks like Cartoon Network will finally be airing the final 6 Justice League Action episodes next week.

New episodes should air every day next week at 6:15AM Eastern/Pacific, but we've got our eyes out for two in particular. Per the episode synopses reported by SupermanHomepage.com:

"Watchtower Tours"
Monday, May 7 at 6:15 a.m. (ET/PT)
When Booster Gold starts to secretly give tours of the Watchtower to make some extra cash, he inadvertently brings in a super villain disguised as a tourist.

"She Wore Red Velvet"
Saturday, May 12 at 6:15 a.m. (ET/PT)
When Booster and the JLA come under attack by a mysterious and unrelenting new villainess known as Red Velvet, Booster comes to realize she's actually the fiance he left at the altar in the future.

Dedicated Boosterholics may already be aware that these "new" JLAction episodes have been released overseas and via the Cartoon Network app, but this is the first time they will be coming to American televisions.

I already have my alarm clock set!

To Know Him Is to Love Him

DC Kids has put together 17 minutes of Booster Gold clips from Justice League Action episodes to create a "Who Is Booster Gold?" sizzle reel.

While it's funny, it doesn't exactly portray our hero in the best light. In fact, you might even call his behavior "bumbling."

Oh, well. I admit it. Booster has some rough edges. But that's what makes him the best!

Fantasizing About Career Opportunities

Timeline of an action figure hunt:

March 2017: Target.com lists a 12-inch Justice League Action Booster Gold action figure. The price is $9.99, though the figure is listed as out of stock and cannot be ordered.

June 2017: Target.com de-lists the figure. It hasn't been seen in stores and is presumed cancelled.

December 2017: The figure appears on eBay.com, proving it exists. The listing closes over $100 for what appears to be an ultra-rare action figure.

January 2018: The figure appears on Amazon.com, finally making it available to the masses. List price starts at $13. At last check, it was selling only from second-hand sellers with prices in the neighborhood of $25.

Now: The figure has been spotted (and purchased) in Target stores in Dallas, TX and Philadelphia, PA. The purchase price is $9.99.

Won't You Play with My Booster Gold

It took a year, but it looks like Booster Gold is finally available in a Target near you. (It's still unavailable from Target.com, which acts like it has never heard of any such thing.) You're running out of excuses not to have this beauty!

Thanks to all Booster boosters who have reported finding the figure in their local stores. You guys are so good, maybe you can turn up one of those DC Icons JLI Blue and Gold two-packs DC Collectibles teased us with last year.

Birthday Surprise, Booster Gold!

Today marks the negative 425th birthday of Jon Michael "Booster" Carter, born this day in the year 2442.

If you've got $100 to drop on an action figure, I think I've got a pretty good way to celebrate the occasion.

Perhaps you recall that I first reported on a 12-inch Justice League Action Booster Gold figure from Target back in March? By June, I'd given up hope that we would ever actually see it in stores. I might have been premature.

Earlier this week, I got word that Mattel might finally be releasing the figure in 2018. While researching that claim yesterday, I found this on eBay.com:

2017 Mattel DC Comics Justice League Action Booster Gold 12

I've still never seen one of these in the wild, but if this is the real deal (and there's no reason to suspect that it isn't), there must be others out there somewhere.

Keep your eyes peeled, Booster boosters! And Happy Birthday, Booster!

UPDATE 01/01/2018: The Blot notes that this figure is now available on Amazon.com for $13! Man, 2018 is looking Boosterrific already!
