New Release: Injustice 2 29
Happy Independence Day! If you can tear yourself away from fireworks and hot dogs, get yourself to your Local Comic Shop today and get your hands on Injustice 2 #29, featuring Booster Gold's new jacket!
Finally! A costume update that looks better than what he was already wearing!
While you're there, consider picking up a copy of the suddenly very controversial Batman #50. Your LCS probably ordered too many of them.
(A quick aside for those of you not glued to the comics press: on Sunday, with the consent of DC Comics, The New York Times newspaper spoiled the events of Batman #50. According to ComicBook.com, DC vice-president of sales John Cunningham defended the company's actions by essentially saying that DC wanted to mitigate what they knew would be terrible backlash if fans didn't find out about the issue contents until the day of release. That's practically an admission that they had promoted and sold the issue — retailers had to commit to orders for the 50+ covers two months ago — on false pretenses. I'm no lawyer, but I would think that qualifies as fraud.)
But I'm not advocating that you pick up Batman because I'm a nice guy who wants to see Local Comics Shops stay in business. No, like Booster Gold, I'm a little shallower than that. I'm suggesting you pick up an issue because Skeets is in it.
What is Skeets doing here? I have no idea. It being a Tom King written book, I bet there's no logical reason, probably just an excuse to get Booster Gold fans to buy a copy. At least in my case, it will work.

New Releases: Batman 47 and Injustice 2 26
You'll find the third and final chapter of "The Gift" appearing in Batman #47 is in your Local Comic Shop today. CBR.com has the preview, demonstrating that Booster Gold has lost his mind and Bruce Wayne is a real bastard.
If you missed the beginning of this story — lucky you. But if you still want a copy, DC is releasing a second printing of Batman #45 today. The first printing sold out all 96,000+ copies. To put that in perspective, that one issue has already sold more than *twice* the number of copies of any single issue of Booster's recent 6-part "Booster Shot" story in Action Comics.
(Consider that Booster's first series was canceled because the character was rejected by 1980s audiences for being too immoral, yet the version of Booster that sells best in 2018 is a much, much bigger jerk than Dan Jurgens' original incarnation ever was. Go figure.)
Batman #47 isn't the only issue out today featuring Booster Gold and Batman. A more traditional interpretation of both characters can be found in Injustice 2 #26. Our hero doesn't play a big part in the proceedings, but at least he's easy to recognize. He's the only hero attending Batman's meeting wearing a t-shirt with his own face on it.
Who says we can't have it all? Booster boosters who like the beard can pick up Batman #47. And for those who prefer a clean-shaven hero, grab Injustice #26. Everybody's a winner today.

New Release: Injustice 2 issue 21
Another week, another Booster Gold comic book appearance, this time in Injustice 2 #21.
You may recall this digital-first issue was released on Comixology.com back in January as "Chapter Forty-One." If you didn't pick it up then, you probably want to do so today. Even though it takes place in the continuity of the Injustice video game, it's always entertaining to see the Blue and Gold team back together.
If you choose to buy a copy, it will make Skeets happy.
On a barely related note, also in stores today is Exit Stage Left: The Snagglepuss Chronicles #3. It has nothing to do with Booster Gold except maybe the writer, Mark Russell. According to CBR.com, Russell told the crowd at last weekend's Emerald City Comic Con that the character he'd most like to explore more of in the "Rebirth" era is Booster Gold. Russell is already familiar with our hero; he wrote last summer's Booster Gold/Flintstone Special.
Snaggletooth is limited to six issues, so Russell will be free to explore other projects soon. And Dan Jurgens will need something to do after Bendis takes over Action Comics. How about some new Mark Russell written, Dan Jurgens drawn Booster Gold adventures, DC?

New Release: Injustice 2 Issue 5
Don't forget that DC Comics is releasing Injustice 2 #5 today. (Although, because of the Independence Day holiday, some shops — including my own Local Comic Shop — won't have new books on the shelves until tomorrow.)
The contents of this issue first appeared digitally last month, so we can be sure that our hero (and Skeets!) will be appearing within.
Buy this issue and tell DC that we want more Booster Gold!
