New Release: World's Finest 23

Late Monday night I received the following email from Booster booster Rob Snow:

Booster sighting! Kinda! We see the back of his head in one panel of the latest World's Finest

Sadly, I have not yet managed to make it to my Local Comic Shop to pick up a copy, but I imagine the panel looks something like this:

Ow! Batman!

The only way to know for sure is to go buy Batman/Superman: World's Finest #23 and make Skeets happy.

New Release: World's Finest 22

It shouldn't be a surprise that Booster Gold is in this week's Batman/Superman: World's Finest #22. After all, he was on the last page of last month's issue.

So you might expect to see him sooner in this issue. And we do.

This time, he's on the next to last page.

That's three issues of Batman/Superman: World's Finest in a row with very, very brief Booster Gold cameo appearances. How long can they keep this streak going? I guess we'll find out next month.

New Old Releases

I'll keep today's post brief so that you can spend more time reading (and re-reading) Booster Gold's appearance in DC's 'Twas The 'Mite Before Christmas. I just wanted to mention that if you still need Christmas presents, DC has released a bunch of collections recently in which Booster plays at least a small role.

This week, DC issued a 2023 hardcover edition of Infinite Crisis, in which Booster Gold returns from the future to introduce the future star of DC's Blue Beetle movie and save the world. At least that's how I remember Infinite Crisis.

DC has also just released the trade collections Multiversity: Harley Screws Up the DCU and Nightwing: The Leap, reprinting Booster's appearance in the pages of Multiversity: Harley Screws Up the DCU #6 and on the cover of Nightwing #100, respectively.

And since I'm on the subject, I would be remiss not to mention that last month saw the 2023 reissue of the 2018 The Seven Soldiers of Victory Omnibus hardcover. Booster Gold barely appears in the included Seven Soldiers: Bulleteer #3, but it's a darn good comic book series overall (made all the better by a small Booster Gold cameo appearance).

You may now resume your regularly scheduled holiday anthology reading.

New Release: Batman Superman World's Finest

While my attention was focused on turkey and apple pie last week, DC sneaked a Booster Gold by me!

As you can see, the Earth-22 version of our hero (and Skeets!) makes a very brief appearance in Batman Superman World's Finest #21, now on sale at Local Comic Shops everywhere:

The events of this issue take place prior to the events of Kingdom Come, so this is chronologically Earth-22 Booster's first appearance!

It seems likely that we'll see Booster again in the next issue, currently scheduled for a December 19 release. You can be sure I'll be paying attention to that.

New Release: World's Finest 17

While Booster Gold has had many adventures without his robot sidekick since the pair debuted in 1985's Booster Gold #1, the reverse is not true. Skeets has rarely wandered far from Booster's side.

But this week, Skeets will be on the cover of Batman Superman: World's Finest #17 with nary a Booster Gold in sight!

© DC Comics

The issue preview at AIPTComics.com doesn't give any indication what role (if any) Skeets (or Booster) will play in the issue's story. Given that the scenario in preceding issues focuses on a villainous artificial intelligence taking over all the other artificial lifeforms in the DC Universe... things don't look good for our favorite sidekick.

Buy this issue and make Skeets happy!

UPDATE: As Marty notes in the comments, neither Booster nor Skeets appears inside the actual issue. Oh, well. We still got a Skeets cover.
